You know i was really fooled by a percentage of people on this site people i thought were nice people but from what i have found in the chat room is there really just a bunch of snobs.
 
Really? I visited once out of curiousity and enjoyed the people on there. Maybe you took something the wrong way? Sorry about your bad experience, but everyone on here isn't horrible:)
 
I would agree with danielle. You most likely took something the wrong way. Everyone in chat is joking and having fun most of the time.
 
I've never been in the chat room cause I'm kinda shy, but I think the majority of people on here are very nice. Sorry you had a bad experience.
 
maybe i tried to make friends to fast lol but this was my experiance: after my 1st week here i noticed when i would go in the chat room it was silent with people in there so i made another name and popped in from time to time an just didnt say anything an everyone chatted like normal so either i did or said something wrong under Duane name that made people uncomfortable with me.
 
there's a lot of times when people in the chat room are just parked there...off looking at other sites, or away from their keyboard. I don't think it has to do with you. I go into the chatroom once every so often...and there are plenty of times when there is just silence....and other times when people are chatting a storm.
 
Hmmmm...it's too bad you felt that way. I'm sure it was just a misunderstanding. Shoot the other night I was in chat, as usual, and every one just got quiet for like 15 minutes. Some times we sit there and surf the forum looking at stuff and seem to forget we are in chat. LOL Was I there??
 
Sometimes chat is quiet, we have nothing to say; we're just there for some "companionable silence"... Sometimes we are talking about a wide variety of subjects. Everyone on there is nice and always willing to help.
 
Yea, I'm sorry you took some things the wrong way. But, when it is quiet in there.. Everyone probably isn't paying attention or something.
 
It’s easy for people to get the wrong impression. I am very wealthy and extremely good looking. Many people think I’m a snob and never give me the chance to prove them wrong. I rarely talk to those kind of people anyway.
 
I sometimes get the feeling like I'm a conversation killer in the chat room, too. :shrugs: I hardly ever really feel welcome or that what I have to say is welcome, it's one of the reasons I've kind of gotten in the habit of just not going in there. :awcrap:
 
I'm sorry you were offended Duane. Tonight there were a number of folks in chat, myself included, who were not chatting very much. I was working on homework, and not paying too much attention. So when you asked how we were doing, I was being honest when I said we were quiet. Before you came in, I don't think anyone had said anything for a good five min or more. Sometimes people just park there and say nothing. If you want to talk about something, you may have to provide a topic, especially if no one is talking.

Seriously though, I don't want to sound like a snob... I'm can be over-sensitive a lot. It's not a big deal to me, but since somebody brought it up, I thought I'd voice my opinion. I will say this, I have experienced the same, up and down of the chat room. One time it'll be busy and other times it will be silent.

But I do understand that when the conversation gets going, sometimes what somebody says is overlooked or missed. It happens and I know it's not done on purpose. *points to comment above about being over-sensative*
 
This chat room is "busier" than the one on Fish Geeks. On Geeks we have set chat times and it's always super active. Here, because people are in quite often, sometimes it's more active than others. Like Sarcare said... sometimes people "forget" and sometimes they are just working on other things waiting on something interesting to happen.

Sorry you had a bad experience but I don't think it was purposeful.
 
The chatroom needs a chime. I know I usually forget I'm in it because I'm so used to IMs chiming when a message comes in. :p
