Female Wiccan Heretic!!
I have to give a huge thank you to Tom E for giving me such an amazing deal on this fellow. He is amazing! When I opened his box, he came out as calm as can be, and even my hubby said he felt like Grendel was scoping us out. We had a quick cuddle, then I put him in his bin to get a drink and settle in.

Even though he seemed totally at ease, I didn't want to freak him out with the flash, so these pictures are not great. Once he's had some time to settle in, I'll update this thread with better pictures, I promise!

My husband is not a "pet person", but even he was totally impressed, and agreed that Grendel is stunning!

Hello my new friend!

What a handsome face you have...

The hides I got for him may be a bit too small, I'll be hitting the reptile shop nearby for some bigger ones this afternoon.

Then again, they may be fine...We'll find out, I guess.

Oh, and I've already been introduced to the famous indigo poops, as he gifted me with one in his shipping bag! :D

He looks great, we're so relieved he arrived safely! By the way, I had to promise Jen 2 pillowcases in order to send him in that one, and look what he goes and does with it, LMAO!

Aw, congratulations! Why did Tom have to sell his snake, though? That makes me sad. Unless it's because they're moving to Florida. Well, Grendel is gorgeous.

Indigos are one of my favourite snakes, you are very lucky to own one...
We don't get to see them for sale over here... Well not often.....
ps you could of made the bed..... LOL

Hey Nanci, don't be sad. We didn't have to but Jen is looking for jobs and we're gathering up moving money. We think we have a good lead on a teaching position in UT, but no answer yet.. The thing is, Jen is really determined to get to teaching, and she's got applications all over. Even looking at Alaska and the Virgin Islands, lol. She's starting with the states that will accept the Praxis tests that she's already done (since they are expensive to take and then to get certified in those states) but we really could wind up anywhere.
I have also really really scaled down (Stephen has my corns sort of a long term breeding loan you could say) and I decided to use my homemade viv as my guide for how many I would keep- it houses two.
When Catherine sent me a message about where I got mine, I let her know that we could let him go..
I also just don't think we have him out enough since we got the dog. He's really really too pushy and curious with the snakes, so I just hold them in the snake room, and never on the couch anymore. That made me think that Grendel especially (who loves to come out and explore) needed to be somewhere else..

That's nice of you, Tom. My dog plays second fiddle to the snakes!

Yeah, nice to the dog and maybe mean to the snakes, lol. But I know he's in good hands.
Catherine you're welcome to change his name if you like! I guess you know that already, that he don't care a bit what you call him, lol. I do think Grendel kind of suits him when he's feeding though as you'll see.. :eatsmiley

Sorry to hijack a bit!

Keep those pictures coming. By the way we have a lot of friends in Vegas, maybe you'll let us visit some time if we come out that way?

I saw that you were getting an indigo, didn't know it was Grendel. Nice that it worked out for both of you. That's a gorgeous snake, bet you'll be staring at it for a while.

I had planned to call him Lucivar, but Grendel grew on me. :)

Come visit us in Vegas anytime!

And :p about the bed Mike. I had more interesting things to do this morning! ^_^

I am so glad he got there safely. I know you were worrying! Lucivar from the fantasy novels?

Yep yep, that Lucivar! I thought it fit, a good combination of gentle and temperamental. I haven't seen Grendel in feeding mode yet obviously, but Tom tells me it's something else! I'm glad I got some nice long tongs!

Good choice! What other fantasy books do you like?

Anything by Anne Bishop, Robin McKinley, Neil Gaiman...Umm...lots! I read really fast, and I go through a LOT of books, so it's hard to say...

How pretty! Indigos are rear-fanged though, aren't they? Also, no need to buy an expensive hide fromt he reptile store! An empty cereal box would probably make a nice hide for him, cut in half if it fits better.
