09 Dilute Pewter

John, I wonder how you know those quadruple homo's are homo for all four genes? I guess you have not bred them from the same quadruple homozygous parents....

but it's a fine bunch of dilutes anyway!

Your right we are only 95% sure, they were produced by Rob (Bayou Reptiles) but I am going to breed them to test:
1. The dilute motley blood female will breed to the Diulte Blood pos het motley male
2. The hypo dilute motley male will breed to a Anery blood het motley and pos het dilute and hypo.

Those breedings should give us the answers to your and my questions.
I would never sell any babies without test breedings.
That is why I think we need to be careful about people selling striped and motley bloods without proven parents.
Thank you
John

I was not suggesting you would sell baby's saying 100% het while you don't know :) I guess Rob just saw differences between the phenotypes within a clutch that indicate which is what.

I know you were not, it's just lately we are seeing fire motley and stripe (and other blood) babies that the parents are unproven so people are calling them blood stripes or blood motleys with out proof. I think some buyers are going to real disappointed when they go to breed what the thought was a blood stripe and turns out to be just a stripe het blood (or motley).

I second that thought! There sure are a LOT of those types available these days from parents that are not homozygous for the same traits as the offspring supposedly are. I know I have been fooled on more than one account and always err to the side of the less....and perhaps someone has received a gem but I'd rather that than the other way around.

By the way...nice future breedings....should cover your bases really well.

She is gorgeous! I like the charcoal too. I got a pewter and a phantom this year and I love them!
