20 long too small?

Thanks so much for your quick reply.

I have read, too, that they can feel stressed in a bigger container--she is about 21" or so. Do you think she'd be happier in a smaller enclosure for now? I had planned on putting lots of hides and vines in there for her, but if she'd be less stressed in a smaller tank, that may be better?

I loved the reference to the "empty tank syndrome"--I have had that many times myself! Hmm, what can I put in there?

Thanks!

Gayle

If this is the tank you are going to keep her in forever, lots of small hdes are good. It's just that a tall is not best for a corn snake, so much of the tank is just wasted.

Thanks susang

hmmmmmmmmmmm i just bought my 20 galon long n it cost me 50 dollars plus substrate (aspen)60 dollars total.i know 20 gallon should be cheaper but all the pet stores are expensive.

Hi,

I think it was a fairly good deal--comes with a nice sliding screen. I went and bought it today--still need to order heat pad and some more hiding places.

Also, if $ is a factor, don't forget to check www.freecycle.org or www.craigslist.com I've gotten most of my tanks from freecycle but always see good deals on craigslist as well. It's also getting to be garage sale time, and lots of people who decided to get out of the fish or reptile hobby are trying to get rid of tanks.
