He was going all over this morning and then decided to have himself a spa morning. Love to just watch them all. They are so cute and so amazing to me. And he's sure a stunning snake. I can't wait to handle and feed him!
The lighter morphs, like Spec, are hard for me to tell sometimes. I really tell with Spec because she feels so different. Looking at him he doesn't look like he would be, at all, but he could be. No idea when he shed last so I don't know. I did notice though that putting him in with all the tan colored stuff (hide, aspen, water dish) that he does look more washed out against it all. I'll have to keep an eye on him and see.
Did a little handling and only took just a few photos because he is really scared of my phone and kept striking at it. He also ate and struck at the lid of the container until I put the pinky in. He is a much slower eater then both Spec and Hades. But he ate and is now tucked away awaiting digestion so I can handle him again. Very timid but has never tried to strike at me yet. Hopefully handling will help that. Anybody have any other suggestions for a name? Nothing is really sticking...
I am feeling pretty sure he wasn't in blue and he didn't refuse food but he sure feels different then Spec and Hades. Almost seems to have some different scales.
Fed the feisty turd last night. He was out hunting so I fed him. He wouldn't let me watch this time, so I had to cover him. But boy did he strike at that pinkie with some force before he noticed I was watching and dropped it. He coils around it also. He's got some tude for sure. Hopefully he calms with some time and handling. Going to take it a little slower with him so I don't stress him out to much.
He's really pretty. I bet he will mellow out for you. Most of my babies this year hatched pretty feisty and all of them except for one have already calmed down a lot.
Hades is still pretty gung ho, for sure. But this one makes him look totally mellow. He's pretty mellow and I just love his personality but he's still got that feisty in him and boy I totally thought he was going to bite me last night while I was feeding. He was watching my fingers like no other lol. He wanted food. But he's never bitten or struck at me. He's serious about feeding time and LOVES to eat. And I love that he doesn't care at ALL that I am there or anything. He's so NOT shy. This one now, he strikes at everything. He has never struck at ME, but everything else that comes near him he strikes at. He even strikes at the lid of the feeding container. And man it's crazy how flat and triangular he can get his little head.
I totally apologize, I should have been more clear. The last post was mostly about Hades. The fire I got from hypnoctopus. This one has fed for me twice. No problems, but this last time he wouldn't eat with me watching. He struck at the middle of the pinkie with quite force but dropped it as soon as he noticed me watching. So I had to cover him up. Sucks, cause I LOVE to watch them eat. Hoping he'll let me watch with some time, but if not, the other two let me watch. But he's still eaten with no other problems. Happy about that! He is gorgeous. And I like feisty, just wish he would be OK with me taking pictures. I'm sure with time he will.
So Snobi finally shed. He sure is super stunning! He seems quite a bit larger. Will get a new weight before I feed but last feeding he was 16grams. Here are some photos, some with flash and some without. Any suggestions about how to handle/break him of his crazy aggression? Or just handling? He strikes at everything.
Thanks Amanda! I loved the name so had to stick with it even though it's a mouthful lol. And he has some tude that's for sure. Watching him eat, when he lets me, is nuts. He strikes and coils and sits there for a long time. He struck at a paper towel and got stuck. Wasn't sure if there was something else I need to do besides handling to help alleviate some of it? I don't mind fiesty, Hades is fiesty, but he really makes Hades look like a baby lol. I swear Snobi's head is always a super flat triangle.
Thanks Olivia! I can't believe how bright he is! Can't wait to see him all grown up. Hope he grows out of it at least a little bit. Don't want him to strike at everything in eyesite.
must say though, I'm really beyond proud of my amazing babies. They are all so stunning! Such gorgeous creatures.
Came home from seeimg newborn puppies and guess who is shedding AGAIN... Will post some photos tomorrow. Hades just shed a few days ago and Spec just went clear. So will have some photos to post.
I haven't been active in a very long time, life has been so hectic and crazy and we've gone through so many, many changes. I really would love to get more active again but it is going to have to wait a little bit til some things settle and slow down. I'm sorry I haven't kept up on posting much for updates on my three beautiful, gorgeous, growing corns and I will try to get some more info added soon but here is a link to some pictures I took two nights ago while they were all eating. Snobi is still my smallest. He's growing and isn't to much behind the other two but still a bit smaller then they are. He's still a little bit shy, but he's made a lot of progress in that department as well. I don't even have to sneak photos of him while he's eating anymore but you can tell in photos that he's a little more of private eater. He's not quite as orange as in the photos but he's absolutely gorgeous!!
