As a parent I make my kids research ANY pet they are thinking of getting, as well as researching myself. If it is their pet they need to learn how to be responsible for it and care for it, it's not going to be my pet. I will help but ultimatly they need to know how. Sadly, not all parents look at it the same way. I give the kid props for joining this forum to LEARN about his snake. We do not know how old this kid is and he's trying to be responsible and learn. As adults we tend to lose patients with children and forget they are children.

I agree that a plastic sterilite container with a snap lid would be the best alternative for your snake until you can make this viv a safe place for him to be, and escape proof. I hope you find him soon.
