A Cornsnake Compromise

Well here is a thought, over the next couple of months, I'll be working on my own website. I'd give you a corn or two if you made a logo for me. You are very talented. They wouldn't be lavendars though LOL You'd have to be content with Hypo Miamis, Miamis, or Milksnake Phases. Here is a pic of one of the Daddys. And I'd be willing to take them back if you win the lavendars, but maybe by November she'll warm up to multiple snakes? ;) So if it is OK with your Mom if you win them, you can win some from me. :D

DUH...I forgot the pic I'll try posting it in another thread.

What a great idea

That sounds perfect. Now if mom will go with this problem solved.

Carol, Very pretty snake:)

One more thought, is there any chance she is just holding out for a birthday suprise? Do you have a birthday coming up?

My birthday is long gone. My next birthday I'm 16, so I'm hoping for a car.
Oh by the way, mom said YES!! :D She wasn't as excited as me though. So I can draw you a logo, Carol. E-mail me ([email protected]) to work things out.

Great Kilo, I don't have much time right now, but I'll email you tonight or tomarrow morning. My 7 year old has a friend visiting today and if I leave them for too long they might bring the house down. Boys! My first clutch started coming out on Saturday and so far 16 out of 20 have fully emerged, the other four got their noses out. Two more clutches are due in a week or so and the rest won't be ready till August/September.
Cornsnakekeeper and Kilo, I'll try and get some parent and maybe baby pics to look at. I need to put something together to advertise them anyway. But pretty much Hypo Miamis (like one pictured), Miamis, Milksnake Phase x Motley X Hypo Miamis, and and experimental clutch with a Hypo Miami x Upper Keys het hypo= These are the ones hatching now and look like they will be interesting.
I am happy for you (that your mom said yes):D

Ah, Carol, you beat me to it. Dang!

I had that same idea, but James and I don't have any babies so far, as you know. At least you stepped up and gave Kilo some support. Way to go girl! Girls rock! Especially when they support each other.

Anyhow, Kilo, my son and I want you to do a picture, sign, gif, logo for his corn snake business, starring everyone's favorite "Nacho & Cheeze." I was waiting until after the pressure of the CornsnakesForum.com competition subsided before offering you a choice of a pair of my corn snakes, but Carol beat me to it. (I tell you, that Carol is slick. You have to constantly keep an eye on her. Ya snooze, ya lose.) I don't expect to have any wee-ones until next year, unfortunately, but I could send you a couple hundred for your work or buy a pair of corns for you from Mrs. Love or Mr. Zuchowski. Have your people email my people.

There's no rush. My son is seven, soon to be eight at the end of this month. Business is the farthest thing from his mind. We want you to be relaxed and unpressured--unless being otherwise gets you to produce great work--in which case, we needed this last week and why haven't we seen anything? Just kidding.

Just to get your creative juices flowing, my son wants to call his business"The Corn Snake Pit". I tried offering other suggestions, but he is adamant. Satisfy the logo contest and Carol first, we'll wait, but you might want to tell your folks about this offer, or show them this email since you are under age.

I'd love to do a logo for you too, Gregg. Whether or not I can except any more corns will depend on whether my mom gets used to just one. My mom said "You can do the logo, but if it escapes and I find it, you'll have a headlesscornsnake" I'm definitely buying a tank with a built in lid. My brother doesn't seem to keen on having more than one either. He watched a show about giant constrictors nearly kill people, and now he thinks it might eat him (what do you expect in a 9 year old boy), but I'm sure once he sees how small they are he'll probably warm up. My brother also seems to not like mice. He is too much like my mom!;)

I'm so glad for you. This has worked out great. Don't worry your mom might come around in time. As far as your brother:p I've never known a 9 yr old boy that DIDN"T like snakes;) All of my sons friends love to come to our house.

To Carol & Gregg, your both great for helping out:D :D

Lets keep this going a bit farther I am a pretty good artist so I could do some work for sombody if they wanted me to I do not care the payment just e-mail me at [email protected]!!!!!(P.S. the payment could be money, a corn snake****hint, hint****since I do not have one yet !!!!Thanks again bye!!!!

If you ever want a snake but your parents wont let you... just tell them you will spend your money on drugs like the rest of the kids on the block... then she will let you get a snake :) hehe
(it worked for me:D)

You wanna hear something unfair? My mom let my brother have pet snakes when we were kids, but not me or my sister! And my brother was lazy, so we had to clean the tank for him.

But now I am in college, and have my baby corn. My sister is in high school and has 2 baby red-eared sliders (turtles), cutest things ever, but very smelly! And apparently she decided that when she is in college, (I'll have just graduated college) I get to babysit them! Those things require so much cleaning, and feeding 2-3 times a day, and they are so bad. They always knock their heater out of the water, and the big one always climbs on the little one.

But yeah, it sounds like you've done your best to present your case in a mature and constructive manner. Maybe your mom will see that this isn't just a phase and eventually give in, or else you might just have to wait till college or after (if you live in the dorms for all of college....you'll prolly have to wait till after). My mom doesn't mind the snake or the turtles, she actually called them all cute, and has held them! My dad has never shown much interest, so usually when I am home for a break, I shove the snake in his face :)
Good luck on the convincing. My sister hasn't managed to convince my mom to let her have a snake yet....she really wants a king or a hognose.

My husband & my mom (who lives with us) are not snake fans, so when my middle daughter got really serious about wanting to get one she didn't just make a list she wrote a research paper & an essay. Her dad was blown away by the time & effort & loved that she was that dedicated. The essay did include such things you mentioned such as keeping it in her room if her dad and/or grandma will be home, making sure the enclosure is always secure, etc.

Best of luck to you!
