Mine have only been aggressive if it has been my fault eg. not washing my hands or rattling about in their vivs, making a noise. When I do this (changing water, spot-cleaning etc) they usually just slither away and hide in their hides but a couple of times they've had the courage to give me a quick nip on the hand.

Of all the snakes I own and have owned I've never been bitten by a Cornsnake. Wish I could say that about the rest.

Cal. king trying to eat me.

No bites, but as of yesterday I have joined the ranks of those who have been pooped upon! Gross, but painless.

LOL Untill I had gotten my snakes from Rich yesterday (btw they are beautiful!!!!!!) I had never been struked at by a corn. LoL OTOH i have been hunger bitten 2 times by my texas ratsnake, and struck at but not actually bitten by my albino and 2 normal spotted california kingsnakes

There are times when my babies do bite...but usally no. There is this one milk snake phase corn that is striking at me like crazy....but it's already better than before....before it was striking no matter what....water bowl, hands, picking poop, and basically everything....LOL

Yes it hurt, she was biting down on the nerves just behind my thumbnail. It was the worst bit I've ever had. Yes I took the picture myself.

LoL Tim You remind me of the guy from Godzillia..the one who stood filming the monster till it has luckely stepped over him. Never get yourself a viper :)

Actually although I don't keep any in my home I often go collecting Venomous snakes.

Southern Pacific Rattlesnake I captured while on vacation in California.

had to join in

had to join in, being a UK guy too. kris, be happy we dont have venemous snakes roaming about. it'd be my luck they'd hide in every building site i work on.
yay, slow worms for us :p

Hey Tim...

I have yet to meet an Albino Cal King that didn't have an appetite for fingers LOL. I had a hatchling once clamp onto my thumb and proceed to try to constrict and eat it! It was soooooooooooo funny, and kind of sad at the same time. That poor little guy was giving it every ounce of strength he had. It took me 15 minutes and a dunking in water to finally get him off! He was so tiny and fragile that we couldn't pry him off my finger without the risk of breaking his little jaw bones...

At any rate, nice Rattler. I herp locally and in the desert frequently and have a real love for rattlesnakes. Most I have encountered are so timid and docile. Real beauties! Was in the desert this past weekend but only saw Great Basin Whiptail lizards-no snakes. It's getting pretty cool at night out there now so the season may be behind us...

Oh well,
CHEERS!:cool

I have

A female corn who will bite sometimes.

And I have a Mexican Black Kingsnake that will bite and hold on forever, everytime! :)

bmm

i used to see a couple of Adders when i worked in Anglesey for a few months but rattlers would be cool, just have to do with slow worms and grass snakes like ya said tho now

i got my snake on saturday and if i stick my hand in there, it just coils up like its scared, but it only struck at me once
