My corn is a yearling now and ever since it was a hatchling its been a fighter.
Even to this day it goes into striking position when ever I open the tank. I hold it everyday but usually have to get it out with a hook. When its in my hands it turns into the tamest creature u ever met, it just curls around my wrist watch and stays there enjoying the body heat. Its never tried striking at me when its in my hands.

Just to add to the UK voice...

I agree it's a shame we don't have more interesting reptiles in the UK, but i did once nearly pee on an adder whilst out mountain biking in a forest near Scunthorpe!

Fortunately I spotted it half hidden under the bush I was behind, before the awful deed was done!

I've never told anyone that before...!

Brig. :D

hey chris and twiglet, forget the slow worms come up here and we'll hunt sheep!!

My corn has never struck me but she did bite someone in the vet surgery once. She was wrapped round my wrist bracelet style when someone came up and was all like "how cute...what a gorgeous snake" and went to 'stroke' her. Pretzel was more interested in the beardie smell on this womans fingers and tried to eat them!! It was really funny, the woman took it quite well saying beardie bites are much worse!! :D

Hi UK people - we also have smooth snakes in the UK, but they are rare (and non venemous) :(

One of these days I'm gonna go and find me an adder or two in the New Forest - never seen a wild snake in the UK ... but then again, never been looking :D

As for being bitten, although Suzy is young, he's never tried. He'll lick my nose and everything, but never bite no matter what time of day, if he's feeding, or even if he's shedding - ace !!!

Y not go hunting for aders up here in scotland?? hehhe

hey, adders must be partial to a bit of horse flesh then. Mine got bitten last year. I didn't realise what was going on at the time. I thought that he was just being a skitty arab!!
And just so I dont get in trouble for this not being a corn post ;) I wanted to add...my viscious little male tried to bite my dog last night!! :D It was quite funny considering I have a lurcher and I doubt my foot long male could even get his jaws round my dogs toe!!
