Another Escapee...with a problem

Kotone

i (heart) ______.
Well, I was checking on my 2 corns today, and one of them seems to have disappeared. The last time I checked on his was the day before yesterday, and I noticed that he had partially regurged his last meal (it was too big..).

I live in a dorm room, apartment style, with 4 separate rooms, and 2 bathrooms. There's a living room and a kitchen. I've checked my room, in every place I can think of, and no luck.

The problem is, I'm leaving today for the weekend. I can't really leave a food trap because of the regurge. I really don't know what to do-- one of my 3 room mates will be here this weekend, but I'm just afraid that he could've escaped into the rest of the building or something.

Does anyone have any suggestions for something I can do before I leave?

*sigh*...why today of all days...

Did you check the tank really goo? Try looking under all the substrate if it's something the snake could burrow under.

Yes, I did check. he's no where to be seen. I looked under the water bowl, in his hides, etc...

I've never had an escape but what I've read is that the go along the perimeter of the room instead of out in the open.

I would start at the wall by the tank and look around the perimeter of the room searching anything that looks like it would be a hiding place and searching anything that is warm or giving off heat.

It might not hurt to defrost a pinky and put some cuts on it and leave it in the room to see if it will draw the snake out.

Good luck.

The only thing is that I don't have pinkies. I only have large fuzzies (too big for him anyways). And plus I don't want to feed him because he just regurged.

Would maybe rubbing his cage with a fuzzy attract him?

I may just end up leaving with a towel under the door and hope for the best and look some more when I get back.

I could try a pinky then, at least it wouldn't be as risky.

Maybe 1/2 a fuzzy cut lengthways would do the trick..... i know it sounds disgusting but when needs must....

Ive heard its best to cut them when they are frozen - makes less mess. Stick it in a bottle trap and see if he comes out.... if he's close he'll definitely be able to smell it!

I'm by no means an expert so i don't know whether or not its a good idea to do this, what with the regurge happening, but it is kind of an exceptional situation because he has escaped....
