Baby corn, first time owner. looking for advise

Yeah it definitely was Petco, it was definitely in an enclosure with like 5 others.

I knew just from instinct that per stores wouldn't be the place to go as a first choice but I hadn't started looking at breeders. I might exchange or try again with a new snake. I think I am going to give it another try and as you guys say..leave it alone for a full 7 days.

What do you guys recommend to disinfect? Dawn dish soap? Rubbing alcohol?

Oddly we're from the same town, and I got my snake at Petco as well... 0.o

On topic though I'm sorry about the loss, hopefully they'll refund the money, and I'd suggest Aquatic Environments, or there is a show in Wheaton every month I believe, if you decided to get another.

Petco will refund your money. I suggest getting it back. I would rather see you go through a breeder here, or a show. I do not even get pet snakes from Petco, and I work there....

I got one of my snakes from petco, she had a bad infestation of mites and was a regurger. It was not a fun experience even though I have lots of snakes! Definitely would not be fun for a first time owner. She is doing well now, but I can definitely say that your snake's death was not your fault. I agree with outcast, just get a refund, use bleach to disinfect the tank and everything in it, rinse with HOT water, and let it sun dry. It is baby season, so there will be lots of corns for sale on this site soon (there are plenty already!)
