It's YOUR responsibility to make sure your snake is never injured again, for convenience's sake.
I don't know why I just assumed you used aspen...sorry. What ARE you using? If it's more of a soil type substrate, again, I'd remove it and just keep him on clean paper towels. It will be easier for you to spot any blood or drainage from the wound. I agree with the others, though...I'd get to a vet asap. It's not that he coudn't live with one eye, but you definitely need to be sure that it's cleaned well and maybe even treat him with antibiotics. A mouse's mouth is sure to be filled with bacteria, and an eye is a great portal for the bacteria to enter his system. Thanks for the reply. That's kinda what I was thinking, but I definitely don't use aspen so you may have a different idea of what would happen if I left him in his cage than I do.
I'm trying to help my snake right now. He's hurt and I'm willing to do what I have to do to fix it. It doesn't matter how he's hurt because the damage is already done. When I've taken care of the problem I'll sit back and assess why it happened and determine on my own whether I feel it's worth feeding my snake live mice or not.
Starsevol is being rude again we all make mistakes but are mistakes are as serious as the results they cause so next time use f/t
1. Take the snake to a vet.I'm not calling him a liar. I'm saying that I could be a 60 year old pedophile and you wouldn't have a clue one way or another. Don't judge someone based off of their age; certainly don't judge someone based off of an age posted on the internet. That's downright stupid.
:-offtopic Off topic kinda, I realized who I agrued with about feeding live or F/T mice, it was Beth (Starsevol). Beth I reread what I wrote to you and you probably don't remember but I'm sorry I was a little rude and I'm glad I eventually listened to you.
So to the OP again you should listen to what people here have to say even if you want to, they really know what they are talking about and just want what is best for the animals and to help the owner.
