beardies

well, beardies arent supposed to have hides so... that part isnt bs :) the reason being is that when they are little they hide All the time and dont receive the uvb they need for bone health.

Hence why I said 'Don't give them really enclosed hiding places. Just give him/her a few rocks, a thick branch so they can bask, and you can create hiding places from that' That way, they still have access to UVB.

I have three bearded dragons, non have hides noe i put them in when thet were babies, but they were not used, however my boy friends beardies do use hides, some drink out of water bowls some dont therefore they need baths mine have baths everyother day, I suggest that you start off with everything when they are babies and watch them grow and see if their preferences change. My big male used to eat crickets now he wont touch them. Each beardie is different, eg my female is carzy runs round like a loon, and both of the males do nothing, and i mean nothing im lucky if they move a foot in 2 hours. At first i spoke to my vet as i was worried but it turns out it is quite common for male beardies to do little, all i have to do is keep an eye on their weight because if they are eating but not moving and using energy they could become fat.
If you are doing research online be wary i found care sheets written by online companies who have never kept beardies just mix and matched info from other web sites. The best places to get info is from people that have and do keep them.
