Blizzard Stripe? Hypo Blizzard Stripe??!

Here's another quandary I find myself in. I think I'm going to need a shed or two to figure if the Blizzard is a Stripe or not as I can't discern striping or blotching at all. I'm leaning towards striping, but that will have to come. The pinkish one definitely has striping but is so pink I'm thinking it's a Hypo Blizzard Stripe along the same lines as my notes in this thread: http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113414

Either way, interesting results!

Thanks for looking,

Idk Brent. Stunners for sure. Didn't lavender pop up in this clutch last year? Could it be a hypo opal stripe? Whatever they turn out to be. Congrats on the beauties!

Edit: just went back and re-read everything, and saw that it wasnt this female. :p idk then!?

Time will tell but it does look like the first one, along with the second one, is a Stripe.
I don't think you can tell a Hypo Blizzard, from a Blizzard, by pink tones alone. So ... IDK.:shrugs:

here is one of mine for comparison :wavey::wavey:

Matt, I just love your Hypo Lavender Stripes and Hypo Opal Stripes!:)
The thing is that, with this particular breeding, Brent appears to be rather certain that Lavender does not exist in the female's (mom's) genetics.

Edit: Maybe "mom" does carry Lavender after all .... but, then again, it does not seem that any Lavenders were hatched out.:shrugs:

Thanks for the comparison pic. It does make it interesting.

It is possible as Hypo showed up definitively this year and not last season. Though last season there were more Amel morphs that could/would have masked its expression. Out of 66 eggs over 3 seasons of breeding I would have expected a plain ole Lavender showing up at some point. :shrugs:

Oops. Just triple checked my records. The first season she bred was to a different male (sibling to this years male) so Lavender chances are out from that breeding. That makes it 44 eggs and 2 seasons.

I got bored today, so I dug into the other Charcoal Stripe project that I've been waiting on the hatchlings to shed. That clutch has the same father (NO het AM/CH/LV/HY/ST) that this questionable Blizzard Stripe has. The female I bred him to in this other clutch is a Stripe het CH/HY/LV. In those two clutches, of 39 total eggs, they've produce 7 Lavender morphs. That's part of why I'm questioning whether this particular animals is Lavender.

PS. They also had one of the funky patterned Normals which showed up in that same pairing last season.

PPS. Something else that's caught my "what's going on" attention is that even though Hypo has proven out in all these clutches, especially with the Phantoms and Hypo Lavender Stripe from last season, there have been no Normal Hypo's. Odd.
