Blizzard?

Down to 2 Corn Snakes!
Sorry I haven't been to this forum in months. I don't have many Corn Snakes anymore and my 2 year old takes up all my time :). Just one female Blizzard and this new male Corn Snake. I took a chance getting this snake from a guy that answered my wanted ad. In his picture the Corn Snake looked totally white and he even said it was all white. After getting the Snake I see he has pink speckles on some of his scales. Could he be Snow? I just hope he is Blizzard. I will be breeding him to my pure white female Blizzard to find out for sure. Thanks for any help :)

thanks for any help

So the guy I got him from finally wrote back to me and says that he was told it was a Blizzard at the show where he got it.

It is not a Blizzard. I suppose there is that slim chance that it is a Snow (just taking different photo shading, hues, etc. into consideration ;) ). However, it looks like an Opal to me.

I concur. It looks like an opal to me.

Thanks for the help. Why would the guy tell me it was a Blizzard and he got it from a show...if it was a higher priced Opal. Weird haha. Sucks but not really. I guess I will have to get my other Opals back! Thanks for your help both of you! I'm still shaking my head at this one haha. We will know for sure when the babies come.

It could have looked like a blizzard when it was born, but turn out to be a Opal. Or the guy at the show did not know the diff between them.

not entirely true-snow x blizzard would ALSO produce amels
breed to a lav(or opal) to prove opal :wavey::wavey::wavey::wavey:

Well yeah that is true to I know that. But I think we are counting out Snow pretty much. So the question at this time really is Blizzard or Opal. Breed it to a Blizzard and you get Blizzards if in fact it is a Blizzard, but if it is all Amels then it probably is a Opal. I do not feel that Anery is a factor in this snake at all.

Really only breeding trials can tell as it is with alot of unknown morphs now a days.

Thank you so much everyone for helping out with this. Either way I'm super happy with him...would be happier if he were Blizzard but can't always get what you want haha! Thanks again :)

I traded my Opals away a couple years ago so I just have the Blizzard to breed him to for now.

Here is the first and second baby to hatch...Mystery white Corn Snake (male) X Blizzard (female) Babies

Well, one looks like a snow to me and the other...it could be a colorful snow or possibly an opal.

Blizzards I thought lacked markings as hatchlings and are more white with pink tinting....

Keep in mind that I am new to morphs still though and could be wrong. I think I could be wrong on the possible opal because your Blizzard would have to be het lavender in order for that to be a possibility...

Others will reply just give sometime.
