Butter stripes

How can there be an argument on such a pretty thread?

I had my eye on those two but I can't have anymore right now I have already ordered 4 this year o_O

GORGEOUS babies!! All the best with them, I am happy for you that you found them at such a good price =) Good timing, why argue with that?

In 08, only 2. That was my point, in this thread, several people felt the market would sustain butter stripes at $300 and I didn't. I think the entire corn market is going to rapidly spiral downward. Everytime you, Don, Rob, Kjun, Mohr (the list goes on), sell a snake to someone, it is basically selling to the compition. I am not saying you can help that or it is wrong, just that it is a fact of life. The more corns that are sold, the more competition is created.

Great pictures! Thank you so much for sharing. :) I absolutely love Butter Stripes, and I was wishing I had the money to get myself a few when the sale was going on. I shall live vicariously through you. (and the other people who bought them.)
I really love the complete stripe of the female, and I like the H markings on the male. It almost reminds me of a Trans-Pecos Rat (bogertophis subocularis). They're both absolutely gorgeous!

I never stated they would stay $300. I expected the prices to drop some. They do every year it's simply supply and demand. As people work on projects the supply of a certain morph increases, as the supply raises and the demand does not the prices will drop...Rich shipped out roughly 40+ butter stripe corns during the sale.

His wholesale price is lower obviously however the retail price is still $200-$250 guaranteed feeders. So no, the price on Rich's site did not drop that much.

I doubt Don had updated his pricelist yet but you'll see changes there too.

The point you were originally making was that the price for butter stripes would stay at $90 and they haven't and won't.

You want to see a market that crashed quickly? Look the the Ball Pythons.

It has always been that way. Nothing has changed at all. Amelanistic corns used to be $300. Once more than one person is the source of a pair of animals that can create more of the same, prices will drop. Anyone who expects it to do otherwise is just not being realistic.

I'm amazed that there is an actual argument going on here. I can't even tell what exactly it's about.. Lol!

Those butter stripes are gorgeous, Rick. I regret not being able to take advantage of that sale... Rich has amazing animals! =)

If I ever get another corn, it will for sure be something of the butter variety. Most likely a stripe.

Here's some of the Butter stripes!
Most are bad pics.. ill try again tomorrow in some sunlight!

You are the second person to suggest this is an argument. That is not the case, at least not for me, I see people discussing a trend not arguing.

Agreed, BUT, they did not drop by 60-70% wholesale in one OR two breeding seasons though I don't think.

You did say the price would go back though. Again, time will tell, but I would be willing to bet you won't see many rushing to spend $200-$250 for them this or any other season ever again. I imagine it will great for people to spend $150 "regular price" on them this season. We are all speculating right now anyway. The proof in the pudding will be over the next two months.

BTW, Rich, are you still vending the Daytona show this season? This will likely be my first year there and hope to see you there.

Maybe it just looks/sounds like an argument to us bystanders.

Rick, I can't wait for more pictures! The male has lovely aberrant striping... If you breed them someday, it'll be really interesting to see the variation of striping to come out of the clutch... =)

Planning on it. Of course, if I were to sell out beforehand, then nope.... Well, I can DREAM, can't I?
