Would this be considered a rack?
Yep! I'm considering getting some of that wire shelving. I saw some for a reasonable price on Costco's website -- I think it was about $70 for a 4-shelf unit that was 48" wide.

WalterSmith I love your racks.. Did you build them yourself?
Walter, you've probably posted these pics before of your racks, anyway, I've just never seen 'em... those look super. Great job, man!
Sorry PAIN, I didn't mean to hijack your thread.

So I have sen some setups and they are ALL GREAT looking ones. Here is my question.. some of the racks with the Rubbermaid bins do they have lids on them? Or are the racks measured close enough for the tank to slide in tight to the bottom of the upper self?
If both, what is the best way, Lids or openness and snug?
ALL you that have posted have great ideas and comments. Thanks SOOOOOOOOO much.
Most are measured close enough to work without the lids, at least for all but hatchlings. They really shouldn't be kept in a standard rack, IMO. Personally, I wouldn't even trust some of my hatchlings with the AIRHOLES that I use in my adult tubs.
Mine aren't for hatchlings. Mine are for young ones and adult snakes.
What if I were to used heat pads under each one in the warm area, you think that would work too?
Something like this
Hey this is my racking system, its a bit unfinished and wood everywhere but i think its going well.
How close to the border are you (Windsor). If your not too far. I think me and you need to have a chat.
This is my homemade hatchling rack. It's made out of the crates you get for dorm rooms and such
The company that makes the boxes is http://www.reallyusefulproducts.co.uk/ - it looks like they're planning to supply to the US soon!
Nice set-ups, everyone!
I build my own cages out of acrylic, which has become wildly expensive. I'm going to have to consider some sort of rack system, and soon. The ones by Animal Plastics look like they would work well. Walter, I hope to have something like you have in the distant future -- great job!
