Can someone explain Sunkissed to me?

Sunkissed is a gene that modifies color AND pattern at the same time. It has a hypomelanistic effect, meaning that the colors are brighter and the black is reduced. It also tends to make the head patterns quite funky and makes the saddles more square shaped than saddle shaped.

Couldn't of said it better myself. Sunkissed also makes the inside of the saddles lighter. Sometimes even taking on a whole different shade of color to even a entirely different color inside the saddles.

Pattern modifier.. Sort of behaves like a hypo, but its affects remind more of motley, stripe, or blood genetics..

i was wondering how one could tell also. i knew it made colors brighter, but thats about all i understood. if anyone could post sk and non sk pics of the same morphs that would probably be even more helpful. and what do you mean by funky head patterns?

The head of a Sunkissed kinda looks like the head of a baby blood. They have spots instead of the arrow head look. As you can see in the pics provided this is not always true.

Here's a couple shots of my Sunkissed, his head pattern is very modified, but also doesn't resemble the bloodred head either.

The one thing you can bet on with a sunkissed, it won't be following the rules. haha!

Never understood this either. Kind of makes me want to incorporate sunkissed into anything I make...
