Caught The Snake Bug

Ball pythons require higher temps than corns and need a basking spot in the low 90s, so you would definitely need supplemental heat with them. Google for a basic care sheet and you can find the exact temp range they need.
 
I use heat year round, but I set most of the thermostats at 80F for the summer. Probably, everyone would be fine if I just turned them off. In the winter, though, if I am trying to save energy, it may get down to 70 in here, maybe even 68, so they need heat to digest.
