Clutch #2 of '08

This girl had some troubles with egg binding last Spring and I pretty much figured that she would be done breeding for me, end of story. Not a big deal as she's a gorgeous snake in her own rights etc. etc. Fast forward to the summer and lo-and-behold she decided to double clutch on me and passed all the eggs (slugs) on her own with no complications. Guess she made the decision for me that I'd take risk and breed her one more time to she how things would go. Things went fine! She just laid a nice healthy clutch of 15 gorgeous eggs. There's a couple deformed ones, but they look fertile none-the-less. :shrugs:

Thanks for looking,

She was paired with a Blizzard male. She's het for Amel, so I'll get a mixed clutch of Charcoals and Blizzards. :)

Congrats on a successful laying, you should have some nice hatchlings from that pair :)

Here's to a 100% hatch rate

Best wishes,

Nice clutch! Momma looks like she is gonna "get you" if you try and get those eggs (I am sure you got them already lol - wheres the bite pics :p )

The only time she tries to get me is if I'm between her and her mouse that's hot 'n ready!! :eek1: FYI, she ate her post lay meal just fine and dandy!

hey, just wondering, how come almost every pic of eggs has the snake in with the eggs? you don't keep the snake with the eggs while they incubate do you? and why have the snake in with the eggs at all? just wondering :)

She lays the eggs, I open the egg box, she's in there with the eggs. I take the picture, then I take the eggs and put them into an incubation box, and then take them home to put into my incubator. In the meantime, I have given the female a small meal, closed the egg laying box, and then leave the box with her until she has her post-lay shed.

Sound good?! :)

Because the pic is taken BEFORE the mom is removed from the clutch.:shrugs:

An no, the eggs are incubated with mom.

Eggs have hatched! They started pipping on Friday of last week, but things have been so busy and hectic that I didn't get pics until Tuesday night and didn't get them processed until tonight. Anyway, a gorgeous clutch of Blizzards and Charcoals. First clutch of the year to hatch.

. . . Keep that thought . . . :D

I might be interested in a blizzard if you would be willign to get rid of one?
I'm definitely interested in selling a blizzard if you would be willing to purchase it! :D Gotta wait a few days until they shed, and then need to get at least 2 pinks into them and they should be ready to roll. Two weeks or so. PM or email if interested. I'll probably post a for sale ad when they've taken that first pink at least.
