Taking bets (not really) on which one of these eggs contains my very own Lavender Bloodred! Gotta wait 60+ days and avoid the obvious (and potentially not-so-obvious) complications, but I have a healthy clutch of 16 eggs that were laid over the night and greeted me this morning when I did my daily check of expectant mothers!

4 years in the making and I still have to beat 1 in 8 odds!

Hopin' I can have my own special x-mas in June!

Congrats, another good looking clutch on the ground!

I'm gonna cross my fingers for you to beat those odds and get at least one Lav Blood of your very own :)

Best wishes,

Brent,
Great clutch. I think you have a seriously good chance of beating the odds. I bet you get 3-4 of them in that clutch. I might be willing to make a wager to cover them odds as well. ;) Can't wait to see the pippies.

Thanks for the well wishes. This clutch is THE perfect example of why I breed. I've wanted a Bloodred Lavender ever since seeing one of the first pictures Rich showed. Instead of paying the $$ (sorry Rich!) to get one right away, I decided to work towards producing my own. No discredit to anyone that's purchased one mind you, but there's obviously a personal satisfaction in working towards producing one's own. :shrugs:

Now they just have to hatch!

Well it's looking like my luck isn't going to pan out. :shrugs: 16 eggs, and I have all Normals and Bloodreds . . . not even a Lavender. The mother is a Normal het Bloodred Lavender and the Father is Bloodred het Hypo Lavender . . . 2/8 chance of getting the Lavender morph, 1/8 chance of getting the Bloodred Lavender. I understand they are just chances . . .but I'm a bit nervous about it. I do have another clutch he sired, so I'll really just have to wait and see. Either way, this is a healthy clutch of hatchlings and there's one or two Bloodreds that have killer color and lack of pattern on their sides!! :D

Thanks for looking,

sorry you didnt get your lav bloods in this clutch, but it sounds like you got a few nice ones in there! congrats! :)

That's a bummer. Last year I got 6 normals, 4 bloodreds and 1 lavender dead in the egg, no lav bloods.

This year, I've got a 1 in 4 chance of lav bloods with 23 eggs in the box. I'll be tempting you with pictures in about a month and a half.;)

Sorry you didn't get your blood lav. :( Maybe next year will do it for you.

I will be doing my own project for these next year with a normal het blood lav and a lav het blood. Maybe between the two of us, one will get some thing. :)

The mother is a Normal het Bloodred Lavender and the Father is Bloodred het Hypo Lavender

the female you hatched out right? its the male that is a Question? I would have thought you should atleast get 2 lav's out of it. :shrugs: I hope you get a lav in the next clutch.. thats a bummer.

Oh darn it Brent, it's been really hard typing with my fingers crossed these past two months and I've got to carry on until the other clutch hatches, oh well, not much longer now, I hope ;)

Sorry you didn't get the lav blood this time :(

Best wishes,

The female is my own creation. She's het Bloodred Lavender. The male came from carol who purchased him from Rich and is Bloodred het Hypo Lavender. There's another clutch (of 18 eggs) in the incubator, so I guess it's wait and see time. :shrugs:

Well final tally after shedding and getting them separated is 4.5 Normals and 3.4 Bloodreds. Two of the Bloodreds (both should be females) have some smokin' sides!! :D

Thanks again for looking. Crossing my fingers on the other clutch.
