Bird shops usually have something very similar too.. I believe they use pyrethrin instead of permethrin, and they are chemically similar. Now I can't vouch that it's safe on the snake, but I would guess that if it is for the bird than it probably is. Birds seem to be pretty sensitive to poisons..
