Maybe he knew I just said he doesn't bite in another thread, or maybe he's mad he only got one girlfriend this year, but Zephyr tagged me tonight. I usually don't run for the camera but this time I did because the bite pattern was kind of cool, so I snapped some pics of my hand :dancer:

Nice! Looks like fully open wide mouth bite. I've got one of those "doesn't bite" snakes.

LOL when I opened up his tub he launched out of there and when I grabbed him he was mad. It was actually two quick bites and then he realized I wasn't going to let go

I think cat scratches hurt more than corn snake bites. So does stubbing your toe or hitting your shin against something. The fun thing is how many babies I have from Zephyr. I bet they will all get his lovely disposition. He just hates being held and also hisses a lot (as if to say put me down you stupid human.) It's his first time biting that I can recall, but I think I startled him, I had no time to think because he flew out of his cage so I just grabbed him.

How old are you, Jen? I thought you were something like my age. If so, then like me, your hands look older than you are. Working outside with your hands will do that to them. I've had a couple of bouncers who age people by their hands, and they always think I'm way older than I am, whereas people who age people by their faces always think I'm way younger. I guess I'll take old hands over an old face! LOL!

I'm in early 40s, yea I have ugly hands, but we can't all have pretty hands like Some People ;) Note how hard I tried to not show the fingernails. LOL I make a living with my hands, I don't wear gloves much unless I'm handling something with thorns and when I see girly girls worrying about nail polish and stuff it makes me laugh.

I didn't say they were ugly! Just that they looked older than I thought you were. But actually, you're 10 years older than I thought you were, so they don't look AS old as I thought. :) Still, they look weathered, as do mine.

Work gloves are terrible. They just get in the way. Calluses work much better.

OUCH!! nasty bite..I don't care what anyone says..that looks like it would hurt way more then a cat scratch.....ouch...

The funny thing was I was surprised it bled at all - really didn't hurt. Just like a baby snake it felt kinda like velcro. Having the tough hands is an advantage sometimes ;) BTW I know you didn't mean ugly Steph that's my own assessment (we are our own worst critics!!)

Great bite pattern! Did you take the famous 'snake-bite cure' after the pictures? (Alcohol, oral, stat)

Nice bite Jen. Don't you love it when the snake makes a lier out of you. LOL

:-offtopic I have girly hands with long nails but Im not a girly girl.

Nice bite pics!!

I won't show anyone my best bite pics, from a wild yellow rat, because it was the week I was building Fort Tort and my nails were bitten to the quick and just icky. My poor nail lady- I want them as short as possible, but still with acryllic on, so polish will stay on, because patients see my hands at work and I don't want them to look disgusting. She just doesn't understand when I want my polish to match a new snake...

That really is a cool "bite pattern". I've never had a corn bite hurt as bad as a mild cat scratch, or a mosquito bite even. lol
That's quite a bit of blood though.
Now a good-sized kingsnake bite is another matter....

Wow, you can even see the two rows of teeth marks, that's really neat :)

I got a good tag off my Ghost female a couple of weeks ago, she's so hungry since laying eggs, she thinks everything is food. I tried really hard to get pics of the bite but I just could get them focused enough :( Didn't hurt though, until she started chewing ;)

I'd go with the Ben and Jerry's too, my favourite at the moment is the Cookie Dough one....mmmmm!
