How were you able to differentiate him from a snow or a xanthic snow?
In all honesty, there is a good possibility there is more in there than that.
Genetically its hypo caramel amel anery bloodred.
parents were amber mystery, they are so far het anery, bloodred and amel, so based on that then they
would be citrine bloodred. The problem is, there is still possible strawberry and lavender in this mix. looking at some of the hatchlings I have produced I am certain there is lavender at least, but am still looking to prove this out..
so I guess its not 100% citrine blood, but it seems very likely, and worst case scenario if i;m wrong is that is got more genes in it.. so win win for the person who brought it.
I would like to know this myself. There are several morphs such as whiteout, blizzard, snow, citrine and xanthic snow that look very much alike. It seems like the more genes that remove color that you throw into the mix, the more confusing it gets. I always thought that the only real way to know was to know what the snakes genealogy is and/or to do breeding trials.
After breeding many of those mentioned for years, you get to the stage where you can seperate many of those from others. but as above, I have tried to explain to the best of my knowledge on this snake so far.
I will continue with the matings, and will be using a son of the pairing, which I have labelled as amber anery bloodred, but I cant see anyway how there isnt lavender in this snake, which I aim to prove out either way this year.
I'm guessing that as Cornmorphs produced the snake i.e. bred him, then he knows the genetics. He's a well-respected breeder so if he says it's a Citrine Blood, then that's what it is.
thanks dude
