Does this ball look in bad shape?

rub = really useful box

If you don't have a "lady's product" some people have had success feeding a snake on the washing machine. Make sure the bin can't fall off...

Keep them in rubs about twice the size of them coiled up.... They like security..
As for getting them feeding.. Fasting is a natural part of Bp life.. That's why Rats are needed when they are feeding.. They will stop feeding every time breeding season comes around.. That's winter.. And multiple feeding isn't the best for them....
Certain lady products, taped to the rub can help trigger a feeding response... You will need one that has multiple speeds, cover the rub so it's dark and play with the speeds..

Lmao, I can just see it now "Ya, I need this for my snake"................

LMAO!!!! For a couple posts, I was totally lost! hehehe Thank you Nanci for clearing that up. I had no idea what a 'rub' was or just what kind of lady product he was talking about LOL Sorry but I am still LOLing :D

Just wanted to update this saying that the ball is doing really well, I put a 5 gallon tank heater on the side of his tank and it keeps temps perfect now. Humidity is still a challenge, but that is expected up here. I keep a towel covering most of the top to help keep it up.

I tried popping her today, and I'm pretty sure she's a she but I'll double check again just to be sure. She's really sweet, enjoys hanging out outside the cage and doesn't show any sign of aggression.

How often should young balls eat? She'll only be here another 3 weeks probably, until I drop her off at Allalaskan's place.

Is it normal for balls to have a really dirty cloaca after pooping? Hers always seems much dirty than my other snakes. I soak hers a bit when I have her out to keep her clean.

She's a sweetie, and I'm quite happy to have her.

Glad she is doing well. I feed them the same as corns, every 7 days is great. This really is a good schedule to continue throughout their lives unless you go to feeding larger prey less often. But I feed mine a single adult asf a week and he does great, if you have a girl you may want to feed larger meals once a week since they are larger than males.

I have never noticed my ball having a dirty cloaca.. I would consider having a fecal done on him to make sure he doesn't have a parasite of some sort.

The ball went blue! But only her eyes, its not like when my corn or sand boas go blue and its their whole body. Thankfully humidity is way up as it is significantly warmer outside, so I'm hopeful for a good shed after the troubles she had last time. I called the vet about the dirty cloaca, and she will have her post shed poop checked for parasites.

Ballie (as my boyfriend has named her) had a fecal after her last shed and she is parasite free :). She's gained a lot of weight now, was 74 grams when I got her and was 90 grams empty when I fed her this time. She's a real sweetie, and doing well.

I am amazed! With the Very first pic, I wouldnt have given her any hope and I am so very glad to hear that she is actually doing well!! Congrats on helping her!

Just FYI, you can usually tell when balls are about to go into shed because their bellies will turn very pink!

Surprisingly, she never showed any signs of shed other than her eyes turning blue. I know my corn's belly really lightens up during shed, but she didn't at all. I'll watch her belly closely next time.

Her cloaca has been really clean since her shed, I'm wondering if she still had some retained shed in the area that I couldn't see before. Either way, it seems to have resolved itself. Her shed came off as one solid piece.

She's an absolute sweetie and curls up on the couch with me while I am working. She never seems stressed at all, and handles really well. I'm impressed with her, she couldn't have been handled much before I got her.
