Don't Punch Mirrors...Warning gory

Recently learned a very important lesson, and one that nearly cost me my life. DO NOT punch a mirror under any circumstance! I lost 4.5 pints of blood, and cut all 13 tendons, along with the two main nerves and main artery. My ulna and radius were showing, and the surgeon said I cut everything I possibly could have. I'm 2.5 months in and already have good use of my hand, all fingers and wrist flexion also. Nerves are still regenerating but that takes months and months to come back. Thank you to any surgeons out there!

Oh WOW ouch. Nerves can even take years and years. I have an area that I had surgery five years ago and it is still numb around there. I am glad that you are ok. I see by the way those cups are arranged that you might have had some help in this situation?

Some people get away with being an idiot easy... You got slapped hard, someone up there is watching out for you dude...

I learned not to punch stuff when angry after I nearly broke my knuckles and tore all the skin off from them. I punched a thick hardwood door... I do not punch things anymore, too much that I need to have my hands for...

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn :O That is epic...I punched a wall when I was in high school because I was SOOOOOOOOOOO mad at my dad's at the time psycho hosebeast it was either punch her in the face or punch something else...the wall was chosen, and I broke my hand...didn't tear anything open though, but I had done it so many times before I just thought it was badly bruised so went for a week with bone grinding bone until I went to the dr...and yup...broken hand...glad you will be ok though o.o

Ouch! I thought my 4 stiches from an exacto slip was bad! Damn! That is going to bug you for a long time!!

Ouch.... I've only gotten so mad that I punched a wall one time in my life. I was a teenager and luckily only hit drywall. Of course, my dad made me repair the wall.

Yeah, alcohol and anger don't mix too well.

Aaaaaaaaaand this is why I will always have job security (911 Fire/Aid Dispatcher).
(Expensive & painful lesson to learn, I bet)

Stupidity can teach lessons and leave lifelong scars. You won the jackpot.
Thank you for sharing the lessons you have learned though. Many young people think there are no consequences when they act out and hopefully this thread will prevent someone from doing what you did and suffering the same fate.

Hot dang, that looks painful!! For future reference a good scream or 2 works well for releasing pent up anger/blowing off steam.

When I get angry, I take my dog for a nice long walk. Calms me down and releases tension, seeing my dog, tongue lolling and grinning ear to ear, helps a lot too. That's without alcohol though, I personally do not drink.

Yeah I certainly do not have anger issues haha that just seemed half as dumb as it turned out to be. Definitely changed my life though!

I suggest reading the book "When Anger Hurts, Quieting the Storm Within". by Matthew McKay Ph.D, Peter D. Rogers Ph.D, and Judith McKay RN.... It is really helping me with my anger issues, since Anger is a big part of my life...

And some people don't learn. lol My brother punched a block wall, had a boxer's fracture then a year later punched his tv and went in for stitches. Yes alcohol was involved.
