Early introductions

Hey you do the plastic coffee cup trick too :) Don't see many people do that!

I have learned to cut the opening like a bend, without angles, then they never tear out.
I think it was Bitsy who told me about it, it really helps because they can't tip them over!

So now my incubator is turning into a nursey for the new babies, 8/16 of Sundances clutch ate last night, and Anni'e clutch are all set up in their little tubs, weighed and first attempt at popping them.

And then I noticed that Kate's clutch is pipping. Including the bulgy egg!:dancer::dancer::dancer:

Looking good J9! You're going to have your hands full once all these babies are out and feeding ;)

I remember mentioning about the plastic cup trick, there's still a few people that do that and it really does help doesn't it? :)

It certainly does, Sue, even the packs of glass tealight holders would work out pricey for this many babies, and then you'd have to store them away each year. I thought it was Bitsy, sorry I'd forgot it was you who told me.

I have a feeling this clutch are going to be screamers! From my Love okeetee, Cattle Kate and my Christmas hypo, Lola. 'Bulgy' is in a separate container to hatch in peace.

Ooh, pretty worms! And "the coffee cup trick" is definitely a good idea! have you tried a cup without ridges to see if it's easier to clean?

I just buy packs of them and throw away soiled ones. Polystyrene cups work well too, but there weren't any large packs of them in stock when I went 'baby shopping'

This may have been asked already, so forgive me if I'm repeating a question. Where did you get the tiny totes the babies are in?

Janine-
Is Polystyrene the same as styrofoam? I'm not great with the lingo from across the pond lol.
And I'd rather wash them. I'm kinda ocd about wasting things and it would make me crazy to throw all those cups away!

I think polystyrene is where you get your coffee in to keep it warm.... ain't it?

By the way, J9, one of my eggs in the incubator starts to bulge the same way as yours now. It's going to take about 3 weeks till hatching, but I'm glad to see it can work out well :)

So when I got in from work this morning, first I saw that there are only 2 of the clutch not out yet.

glad to hear he/she came out safe and sound!!! love the head pattern on the light on in pic number # 2 in the first post since you got home from work.

This morning, Pearl's clutch of monster eggs are pipping! One of them seems to have plowed through its umbilicus (or yolk?) which is spilling out of the egg.

Never seen that happen, curious if the baby is ok and able to absorb the yolk now... don't want to stress you out, but you might keep that in the back of your head?
