• Hello!

Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.

Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....

Please be certain that the location field is correctly filled out when you register. All registrations that appear to be bogus will be rejected. Which means that if your location field does NOT match the actual location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected.

Sorry about the strictness of this requirement, but it is necessary to block spammers and scammers at the door as much as possible.

Edit function please

I'm not saying it is the end of the world and i can see why they are using it as a source of income. I'm just saying it can be more work for the forum moderators. But moderators are saying here that proof reading solves everything but it's just not that easy.

$25 isn't exactly the world is it....
Add it to your Christmas list and see if Santa brings it for you...... ;)
It's one option if the edit button is important to you....

Well in that case an edit button isn't much to give if for an education....
And really £19-$25-E18.54 isn't buying much education if the edit button is that important...
Either way I find it a churlish argument....

No that makes it seem like I think it's the end of the world while i just posted i think it isn't. Also i posted that I understand why it isn't here for free. But those little facts are forgotten so you guys can just be trolling. I will not react anymore if somebody again says that I want that button or if somebody says i don't get why its not for free.

That is roughly one lecture. So, yeah, not much of an education...LOL

Have you guys ever belonged to a forum where you have limited attachment posting? That simply would not work here. Can you imagine the amount of storage Rich needs to provide so we can post as many pics as our little hearts desire? It's not free to run this place! $25 doesn't even make a dent in the expense, but it is a show of support that is appreciated. Private forums also help support the site. Members' advertisements also help support the site. Every little bit helps; it all adds up.

And I want to know where all these forums are that allow all that editing ability as I haven't found them.

I DO proof read but sometimes you post and than think of another thing that you should have said. I love this forum and i know it is not free to use. I have been a forum moderator too and the only fault I see on his forum is the attitude of the moderators. Seriously you are scaring members from making posts and often react rude to members because you don't read there posts with attention. I said that many people make a mess by posting 3 posts because they forgot something or they made a serious fault in a sentence. Also many people post here while they are stressing because they are afraid there snake is sick. Do you think the first thing these people think about is proof reading?

Excuse me, but where has a moderator in this thread mentioned anything about proofreading or shown you an attitude? The only 2 posts in this thread made by moderators have been quoted before your posts which I personally, as one of the moderators, find extremely offensive. Now if you have an issue about how Rich Z has talked to you and others, well, you are dealing with the site owner, his word is law here and he can talk to any member of the forum in any way he feels like. Now I'm going to say "Bye Bye!" :wavey:

Sorry bit confused i thought he was a moderator too and only saw you were one after i posted it. Never found you intimidating or something like that.

Well, maybe so, but I DO try to restrain myself. At least MOST of the time.... :dgrin:

Red-Tail Boa, Herp Family, Gecko Forums. I like being able to edit posts, and I am not in a position to pay $25 bucks right now, but I understand where Rich is coming from and I respect that.

"You must spread some reputation around before giving it to snakemaster24 again".

I happily pay $25 a year to this website. Even if it didn't come with perks, I'd donate. I spend a lot of time here posting, reading, and interacting with like-minded folk. To me, donating $25 is giving back to this wonderful community.

I keep seeing the phrase, "source of income"... As far as I understand it, the donations from contributing members go back into the site, it's not like Rich is sitting high on the hog from our collective $25 a year. You use this site, too, maybe even more than Rich does, so why do you (you as in anyone complaining about this) feel entitled to all the features without helping pay the cost of keeping the site active and running? Why should Rich have to shell out that cost alone when he isn't the only person utilizing the forums?

It's like Sam's Club or Costco. You can't go in there and reap the benefits of their stores without paying for a membership. If you want bulk you have to pay for the privilege. If not, keep shopping at Wal-mart, Kroger, or where ever it is you buy groceries/supplies.

If you want the perks, you gotta pay for the perks. Plain and simple. Don't like it, just keep on walking. :wavey:
