My boyfriend initially allowed me to buy 2 hatchlings.

orriginally it was 2...then 'well 3's not that much more than 2 and it's really the same amount of work to maintain 2 or 3'...

'Well 8's not any more work than 7!!!!'


and we'll have a couple of clutches this year too!!!!
 
Ok, here's the solution:

Go out and buy a viv...stash it in the garage or some storage place in the house.

Then, casually go 'clean' the garage....

"Hey mom!! Look what I found! This is a waste of a perfectly good tank"

For this little con, you could substitute a corn snake for the viv.

"Hey mom!! Look!! A poor lost little snake :( He will probably die if we leave it...Oh and look I just found this 15gal tank in the garage. Are you willing to leave him out here...to DIE?? huh mom?"
