Farting Snake?!

Every couple of ours I hear a loud farting sound coming from the tank...
Is this normal, if it is, is the frequency as well? More curious than worried, of course...Just want to make sure there isn't a medical problem I may not be informed about...

I don't see this is a normal things. I have 30 of my snakes in one room and never hear any loud sounds like that, except for every now and then when one defecates. Maybe your snake is sneezing...you need to watch closer and figure out the origin of the sound.

I've never heard any of my snakes fart either, except like was mentioned, when defecating.

I'd say it's loud enough to hear from the the next room.
Jesus man, what do you feed them? :grin01:
Haha sorry.

But seriously now, you should find the source of this "farting" sound.
Are you sure it sounds like a fart?

The human brain can sometimes recognize an unknown sound as a sound you have heard before and then register the unkown sound as a sound you have heard before..

If that makes sense?

No, but them being so small. Sometimes you can't smell people either...
It is probably just the aspen, neither snake is used to aspen...

Take a step back, when was it's last shed?. Check it's nostrills for left over skin. Mine had made some noise when pooping but I was right there and witness it. Not in the next room. :shrugs:

If your corn has been active, did it climb the rim of the cage and fall to the aspen? My anery does that all the time and makes a thud noise...he slithers back up to the spot he was at and then falls off again...

He sneezes from inside the hide...
My ghost is doing it now too...He is also in shed...I wish they would shed already, their eyes have been clear for days now.

So western would be higher? :grin01:
But anyway it should be around 40-50%. Try misting the cage to raise it.

Well, the east is know for it's dryness...Cold winters...-20f around here... So the heaters are on a lot, dries out the air...
