Hi, we got our first snake at Christmas, a blood corn snake called Whizzy. He has been great at feeding, a pinkie ever 5 days. I have just tried to feed him now and he has come out for it, rubbed his head against it in the tweezers and refused it.
I took it out of the freezer about 4 hours ago and put it in hot water as usual but got called away. It's been sat in the water since, is it normal for him to refuse it and should I try with a fresh 1 in the morning?

They have moods just like we do. I wouldn't worry. Sometimes they refuse food when they are getting ready to shed. A corn snake can go a couple weeks without food with no problem whatsoever. I'd recommend you keep him on the schedule he is used to and see if he is hungry a few days from now. Sometimes it's even good to skip the occasional meal and let them clear out their system completely. Best of luck :).

Sounds like he might be ready for a shed. Toss the pinkie that he refused and check on him in a few days to see if he looks dull. Lots of corns don't like to eat in blue. I don't even bother offering mine food when they're in blue.

Thanks everyone he has now shed and back to being a greedy little bugger, couldn't wait to snatch the pinkie from the tweezers.
