Feeding log

How's your ASPEN
How many of you keep a feeding log or some sort of record of when and what you feed your herps? Do you use a sticky note or do you have an actual binder type notebook to keep notes!

I only have 2 and I have trouble remembering yesterday let alone 5days ago:nope::nope::nope: and the people with mutiple snakes well I could only imagine

It's easy! (with only one snake)
I keep the receipt for the last mouse I bought for her on top of her viv.
If you have two you can get a dry-erase marker or a grease pencil and write it somewhere on their viv.

Wow, it is wayyyyyy to early, because i was picturing a log in which you would put a mouse in...

I think they have these kind of things for aniamls that eat crickets, and the visual that poped into my head was terrible!! lol..

I have a note book (I'm obsessed with notebooks), and each of my snakes has a page or so. Whenever I feed them or they shed, or if an unfortunate regurge happens, I record it.
I personally don't record defication.. snakes mark their territory, and every time I clean out tubs, sure enough, someone is bound to poop! I mean, I guess if something wierd was happening with it, but I don't need to be that involved in my snake's lives..

Probably the easiest and longest lasing way to keep track of your snake's goings on is to do it with a note card that you keep attached to your snake's enclosure. If you're a computer person, you could make an Exsl spread sheet!

Whatever you feel comfortable with.

I use notecards and keep date, fed, weight/length, and shed/other notes. I only weigh them about once a month. When the notecard is full I put it in a notecard box.

If you only have 2 snakes you could put a calendar up near the cages and just write on what date you fed.

I have a snake diary. This records when they ate and when they're next due to eat.

Also, each individual snake has its own log. It records feeds, what was eaten, refusals, date it went blue, date it shed and any vet visits. For the females, it also records mating and egglaying (lay date plus number of fertile/infertile eggs, and hatching date).

I use my own data app. You can set popup reminders for who needs to be fed, and even when you need to order more food if you keep inventory. The link for it is my sig, if you wanted to try it (it's free, not trying to sell anything).

I feed on Fridays or Saturdays and don't keep any paperwork. In 3 years, I don't suppose I will care what day they shed or ate so long ago.

Now, if I bred, I would keep detailed records so my customers would know the info. But for me, and with only 3 snakes, it's easy...

I've been using Google Calendar to keep track of feeding and sheddings (it sends a notice to my email as a reminder) Although I may check out some of the programs shown here :)

i use iherp.com to keep track of everything.

Me too... I'm way too disorganized to keep written notes, and would definitely lose them or forget to record stuff. I'm on my computer for HOURS a day, so it's easier for me to keep everything recorded on there. iHerp is super easy, even with my collection of nearly 30 snakes! :)

I keep a binder. When I first started I noted everything. Now I've gotten lazier and just note feedings, sheds, and weights whenever I feel like weighing them. I've also begun using iHerp. I think it's a good idea to keep some sort of record so you can notice trends and possibly diagnose health issues sooner.

i bought a daily planner for my snakes, states their feeding days, shed days, viv cleaning etc...

Wow -- I didn't even know that these things existed!! I guess I should've figured. I just keep a notecard for my babies and ones that I'm selling. For my bigger snakes, I make a mark on their viv if they do not eat so I can be sure to keep an eye on them the next week. I don't worry if they skip a week or two, but I want to know if they are missing more than that. I feed each Sat. or Sun.
