FINALLY HERE

HelloSweetie

Not going to lie, I've been waiting for him since 8am and he is finally here! :D :D

Absolutely stunning :) Currently hiding in his aspen, will probably give him a few days peace as it was a half hour journey.

Looks a good 2.5ft maybe.

Only concerns are no thermostat for the heat mat so that's next on the list, and a tiny bit of skin leftover from his last shed on the very tip of his tail so will have to have a look at that, but i'm sooooooooooo excited and happy!!! ;D

Whoa! That's a beautifully cute sneaky one! Congrats and I hope you and your snake a long and fulfilling life together!

Have you decided on a name?

Thank you i really hope so to :) It's taking everything in me right now to not pick him up again!

I think I'm going to stick with Calcifer, however 'his' tail end looks suspiciously like a female's if that's the case may end up being called Cali :D

Welcome to the club Cali! Nice set up~ I know that feeling when I brought Levi home, I have to give him all the peace of mind he can get when he settles in. Now he's constantly judging me whenever I watch stuff.

Thank you, got a few bits an pieces to add that i've ordered, plus get the thermostat set up and sorted tomorrow :)

Hahahaha :D

Corn snakes like a lot of clutter and places to hide. The more the better. Most of us have at least one Hide on the warm side as well as a Hide on the cool side. That way whatever side the snake opts for, he doesn't have to just lay out in the open.

You specified you did not have a thermostat yet. Please be careful. Some of those heat pads can hit 115 degrees or more and can seriously burn or even kill a corn snake. If you don't have the heat pad on a thermostat yet, it might be a good idea to just unplug it and wait until you do.

Also you stated there was some shed still left on the tip of the snake's tail. That can be a problem. It's best to get that off as soon as possible. There have been cases where a Corn snake has lost the tip of its tail because of poor circulation due to stuck shed.

Good luck with your new critter.

that's good new then :)

yeah i placed my hand over where the heat mat was and it seemed crazy warm so it's unplugged until tomorrow, thank god for next day delivery :)

yeah plan to get at it tomorrow, was just thinking of soaking the tail as much as he will let me, then rub it a bit with the soft side of a sponge? It is a tiny amount but i would rather not risk it at all,

Also does anymore have any ideas on what morph he could possibly be?

As for the tail, you can take a warm damp washcloth or papertowel (make sure its not too cold) and sort of run the tail through that. Most likely - he's not going to like that, but honestly, its better to get it off than have his tail fall off. I would probably give him a couple of days to settle in though with no handling before you do this.

He is very cute! Congratulations :)
