looks great .. how much did it all cost ? as looking at yours really makes me want to make my owne lol

We just used 2 sheets of particle board and each were $16.00 which Lowe's cut for us for $5, we just gave them the measurements. We also used a thin sheet of board that have wholes for the back, 2 sheets of those which were $8 each. Flexwatt was $38. Tupperware were $5 each which we have 12 of those. We also got a dimmer from walmart for $7 to control the amount of heat coming from the flexwatt. We already had paint, wood glue, nails, and the tools so total cost for everything was $158! Which if we bought a 12 tupperware rack from online we would've spent about $600! We saved so much money and ours came out probably better than what we would've ordered online. Since we built it ourselves it also gave us the advantage to design it the way we wanted it!

So all in all it was a great saving!! =)

If any of you want measurements ill be happy to give them to you! This is an adult corn snake rack. So its great if you dont want to take up much space in your home because it runs up and down with 12 shelves!

Thanks for all the comments!

Nice Rack!

LOL,that looks great, the only thing I dont like about partical board is that it is super heavy, so unless you dont plan to move it much its fine. I have just made one out of scrap pine it isnt very pretty but its light weight and it does the job,I will try to get some photos up of it....
Nice job! and cool sticker!

HAHA! Well it is heavy but we've managed to move it around! If you have a couple of handy men around its no problem to move it around ;) lol! And that art is actually a painting its not a sticker. I had my little sister paint it on! =)

That is pretty much identical to what I want to build for my snakes, except it has more space then the one I want to build. ;) That is so cool! And that's a really good price for a rack period, much less one that holds 12 snakes.

Ya shes amazing with art!! We were going to have her paint art all over the rack but we needed the rack to be finished quick so we just had her do that little part. Maybe we will have her finish the rest of the rack later =)

Thanks suzy for the compliment! =) I do think we did a great job for our first rack. We never even had any experience building one so it was our first time!

Whenever you build something this custom, is there ever a concern that your tub manufacturer will change dimensions on you in a few years? This could affect your ability to buy spares in the future. Do you just stock up on spare tubs now, or is it understood that certain dimensions are always offered in the plastic storage tub industry?
