First handling today, couple questions

Aww congrats! Now you can hold him and hug him and everything *grins*. I'm glad he was a sweetie for you.
I plan too and I'm glad as well! =D

Thanks for the tips everyone! I will have to get some new pictures of George, he has a beautiful belly and his beautiful colors!

Glad to hear it went well! I just got my first corn (snake in general) yesterday so I am in the waiting process as well. But sounds like I am having the same thoughts you were having so this thread helped alot. :dancer:

That is awesome Andrew! The first week will be hard, and the first 48 hours after feeding, but believe me, they appreciate the alone time. :)
Hope to see pictures!

I have a question about biting actually. Ok so with cat bites, i know you need antibotiotics and sometimes with dogs asa well(i was bit by my cat and my hand swelled up like a balloon). Now with a snake bite, is antibiotics necessary? will anything other than a scratc happen when bitten by a corn snake?

I've been bitten by one corn snake, and two ball pythons (baby & sub-adult). No more than a tiny paper-cut in all cases, and I didn't bother with antibiotics or cream... the marks were gone in a day or two. ;) Congrats on your new snake!

Here's a picture of my gaping wound from the corn bite, courtesy of my amel Coraline (while in shed)... and this is a 600g corn. :roflmao::laugh:
