First sign of spring!

Our most conspicuous sign of spring happened a few weeks ago. I live near a river, every spring we see the ospreys return and start fixing up their big nest-messes for the new kids.
I'd say;"It looks like it's all about the placement", but have you seen an osprey nest? Looks pretty random.
They really like when you hang out near their nest and take pictures.

I shoulda said this first. The first sign of spring is when the horses start blowing their coats. Our stallion starts shedding in early Jan. He's done now but the geldings coats have just gotten going. They will be your friend for life if you go out and take the shedding blade to them in the paddock. ( That's why they domesticated humans, for our fingers which do such a good job itching! ) And then I find bird's nests made of white mane!

I saw my first robin of the year today! When I see crocuses and garter snakes, it will really feel like spring.
The first sign for me this year was at work. The place was pretty barren of decorations at winter's end. Then one day there were chocolate rabbits, coloured eggs, brightly coloured paper decorations in the windows and tulips on every table.
I like it when the snow turns into rain. And then it just keeps raining. I know leaves and flowers can't be far away.
Of course, the best sign of spring is my birthday!
I really love this time of year.
