Fox Snake: another Rat snake DUW

tricksterpup

I has nuttin to Say.
Ok folks here is a girl that was given to me, I have posted this pictures around 6/12/08. I though she should have her own thread.
This girl has been a regular feeder of f/t mice. I have had no problems with her at all. I personally think that these guys are under rated in the hobby as a whole. This girl is drab for a fox but I still think she is very pretty.

An incredible snake! :cool::cool:

I agree that they tend to be overlooked.
Back in the 70's they were fairly common in the pet shops down here, but then again those types of shops are long gone.

Good luck with her.

Not drab to me...I love those colors...the blacks, white and earthtones are fantastic...

Her name is??? I know you are too creative for "Foxy"

What a face.
Any input on her temperament...she looks like a sweetie.

Thanks,
She is a pretty gentle girl and her temperament is about that of a corn. Of my snakes she is pretty calm as well, so I do consider myself pretty lucky. :)
When it comes to feeding time, no coaxing one bit either and as stated she readily eats frozen thawed mice. This snake was found in someone's yard who in turn gave it to me. Not bad for a wc snake. No musking or biting from this girl.

As for her name? I shall name her Kitsune.

Lovely girl! I got my Fox snake as a rescue from a pet store. Someone had tried to sell her to the store and when the owner said no thanks they left her. The employees put a heat lamp inside her cage and she burned herself severely. I happened to be visiting the store when I saw her. I was so angry with her care I removed her from her enclosure, walked to the front counter and told them I was taking her home with me, PERIOD. She's got a nasty scar but just like your girl, she is sweet as can be. I believe they are protected here in IL. But your right, they would make a great addition to any collection. Congrats on the great find!

Well folks I didn't have any plans for any clutches this year but this girl laid a clutch of 14 eggs. She did not look Gravid to me. But all the eggs look good, nice and white. So we shall see.

well one of the eggs started to hatch early so I have a pippie right now. I got some pictures but I will have to post them later. :)

I am amazed that they started to hatch so soon. I would think another week or so before they started to hatch. But the temps are starting to change, so maybe this had some thing to do with this, a mother nature timing issue?

What a kewl snake with a really kewl name! Kitsune! Wow. I also have a snake with a Japanese name... Kokoro (Heart). LOL.

I really like her! Hope her eggs hatch nice and easily!

Fred

BTW, what does DUW mean?

Congrats on the pippies Jim!!!

I hope they are all healthy, & eat well for you...
