Fox Snake: another Rat snake DUW

What a great looking snake! Can't wait to see pics of her babies. I'd love to find a fox snake here in Michigan, but since their threatened I guess the chances of that happening are slim. Even if I did find one I wouldn't be able to keep it anyway. Oh well atleast I can watch the progression of your girl and babies and enjoy them from afar.

well here are pictures of the first egg starting and here is the hatchling.

Yes, we should have more.
We had an incident with the incubator, more are hatching and one disappeared. we had more empty eggs than hatchlings. The SO found the snake right next to the curtain on the table. :) She was all in a panic and thought we lost a snake. She is really excited over these hatchlings.
She stated 2 already tried to bring blood. lol So we have a few hatelings out of this batch. :)

By the way...how long are they?
That little one looks like he's already a footer to start!

Maybe they just need a snake teething ring;)

Keep us updated:)
Lol you know how she loves the angry ones.

I was amazed how big this one is. Its a really good size young one. But SO told me that there was one that hatched that had a slight kink in the tail and it was a runt. So We shall see.

Great news bud....

In the 80's these snakes were much coveted by my myself and my friends. Most books at that time said they were kin to corns, not sure if that hold true today. But we never found any in pet stores and upon asking breeders and dealers they looked at you as if you had just asked for a Mandrill or something.
Send one this way care of..... LOL.

Ok folks more updated photos..
