Definitely a normal or hypo with some zigzag/aztec pattern, but there is still something not right with part of the head color. It might just be taking longer for the color to come in perhaps something else (my mind keeps saying potential Upper Keys lineage), but the eye color just doesn't match a normal so I still call "paradox" or maybe even chimera.

Looks like it could be masque but what do the belly checkers look like? I have a male that has more ground color and a reduced pattern on the head with broken belly checkers that I think is a masque and yours looks like it could have the same traits. I have attached pics of my little guy as a hatchling and as of a few months ago. No matter what I think that little guy you have looks pretty cool.

The belly is only half a checker board on the right side. Thanks for the nice comment. I'm not familiar with "masque". Is that a mutation like dilute?

Much better pics, I lurked on the others. IMO a "masque". If you have the morph guide it explains it a little better than I can. After reading the description it may confuse you even more. Masque is beleived to come from/ or be part of the make up of really high end bloodreds. It creates a skull/ to fully clean head. The belly often shows partial chekers or a clear line through the middle of the checkers. It is said to be more identifiable(?) in males than females and still hasn't been proven/ nor has a "predicatable" ratio been established when breed.

Actually, in my opinion, that looks like the 'normal' product of a tessera x corn crossing, most likely with a motley corn. NWHeather and I got a few babies that have odd patterns just like that from our co-op Tessera pairings this year. Not sure if any of them have that zombie type head though. I'll have to look when I get home from work today.

What is your guys opinion on the white tongue? Keep in mind I've been out of corns for awhile. I've just recently jumped back into the pool. I've missed them! How many "normal" corns have pale tongues with white tips? I dont have high hopes for this animal being the next greatest thing, but he sure is pretty and interesting!!

The tongue doesn't look that odd to me. Contact Carol Huddleston. She has a line of miami-phase with similar things going on with their heads.

Had to search to remind myself of the look, but Carol's zombie heads are very similar to this snake. I found this thread of Carol's showing a younger zombie head's eyes. Doesn't look as blue as the OP's, but then in that thread is another perfect example of the eye color just not matching the morph...period. And one more thread showing zombie heads Here.

Can I throw another thought into the mix? A lot of our het cinders have that "faded-out" type head going on. Some even have the start of the cinder shattering on the side, which I see a little of in the side shot. Of course, most of our cinders are also from UK lineage, and quite a lot are from carol, so there may be a link there too!
