Growth

It's variable.

There are many threads on this topic that you can search for using the 'search' feature on the site toolbar.

On average I'd say they will double in length each of their first three years. That's being fed once or twice a week, one mouse of appropriate size. At three years that would be about 36 inches. After three years their growth slows considerably.

My amel has just shed and is around 20 monthes old, the shed size is 33.5 inches so in real terms he's around 29-30 inches long, for a 2 year old i would say 2.5-3.5ft is an average size depending on the snake.

(yeah i did sleep on the couch that night, lol)

Then again, my jungle female is 31" at a 13 mos and eating 2 fuzzies a week. See how variable the size goes? LOL

So apparantly the growth of a Cornsnake is connected to feeding. So I have a long way to go to a big snake. It doesn´t matter, for me it´s an excuse to buy me self an older one. Hope my girlfriend doesn´t freak out... She can handle a small corn, but a big one... I´ll just have to say to her that I fed my little corn a Guinee pig and that the little worm grew large in one night... I will keep the little one, I got a spare tank...

Thanx for the replies guys!

ps If you see any bad English in my postings it´s because I´m from Holland...

When isn't growth connected to feedings? Normally you've got about 3 years to get a snake to full grown/adult size. Obviously the snake will be bigger at 5 years than it is at 3, but it's still an adult at 3 years.

Some snakes grow faster than others, but it's pretty much all about the food---and genetics.

It's not entirely a feeding issue though. My snakes are all fed the same way. Hatchlings every 5 days, once on fuzzies, every week. My amel male is almost 4 ft. at less than 2 yrs. old, my female Aztec is only 32 in. long at nearly the same age. My three hatchlings are all different lengths and as I said before, they are all fed the same way. A lot of it's genetics.

I see "bad English" from people here in the States all the time, I've been guilty of it myself a time or two. Don't sweat that! Again, welcome aboard.

I've got a Hypo and a Snow, I purchased the Snow last thursday from a hobbybreeder, they are both born in 2004 and about 16 inches long. I will report their lenght on this forums with my snakemeasurrer program. I must say that the snakes eat very well! About 4 pinkies a week a snake. My breeder said I could best give them as much as they want.
