It's fine under the bowl. Do you have enough other (small-type) hides for it.
It may want to be well concealed.

After the eyes clear it could possibly shed in the next 3 or so days.

They really don't move around a lot. They cruise when they are ready to eat (or at night they are nocturnal creatures) and they lie still while they digest and wait for the next meal to come by before they have to go looking again :)

Good advice above.

Remember that it hasn't got used to you yet and it thinks you're a big scary monster out to eat it! The more you hang around and wait for it to come out, the less likely it is to venture out.

Strangely, the more hides you put in with it, the more secure it will feel and you're more likely to see it out and about.

However, even as confident adults, they don't tend to be active during the day and especially keep themselves to themselves during a shed.

hi all, hmm this morning my corn stil had milky eyes, but now there as gd as black again? :S he is dueto be fed. would it be ok and safe to feed him? i aint sure if he is sheddin or not? :S

Well from what I understand the film will clear from their eyes just before they're about to shed (within a couple days) and its not a good idea to feed around shedding time as it may interrupt skin development underneath the old skin.

Hope this is correct advice, regulars am I right?

Hi Ayanme. I've never heard the theory of interrupting skin development before. You'd think all the chemical changes and whatnot happen long before the physical act of shedding.

However many snakes do refuse food when shedding or about to shed, then gobble up their food voraciously afterwards. I've always guessed they feel quite vulnerable at this time and that's why they don't eat.

You are correct in that the eyes will clear up anywhere from a couple of days to a week before the actual shed. :)

Michael, as bitsy has suggested, it might be a good idea to try and leave your snakey alone during this time, check on him less often that you are, as you are a massive scary monster to him and you want him to settle in and feel comfortable ASAP. As difficult as it is to not fuss over your new pet, it's for the best :)

ok wel il take all ur advice, and leave him alone more! but he never ever ever comes out from under his water bowl lol even at night!, anyway

Come again? What if he's still attached to one end of it, did you mean? If the shed is incomplete there is been a brilliant tutorial thread on what to do, I think started by Nanci very recently that will show you what to do.
