Hey guys!

I am planning on purchasing my first corn snake. :)

I am having trouble deciding between a Okeetee Corn Snake or a Blood red Corn Snake. My trouble is the colors. If I were to get a Okeetee, I really want vibrant colors like this. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/cka11/093007001.jpg

Is this normal for all Okeetees? or do they get dark brown?:puke01:

As for the Blood reds, I really want a snake something like this: https://www.flickr.com/photos/22710724@N04/3475917684

Is this a normal looking blood red? I really don't want a brown snake.

Any help is appreciated!!

Thanks-
Mike

I agree with xShortStufx, babies go through color changes, some fairly drastic ones. And depending on their genetics even ones in the same clutch can have varying appearances.

That's not a normal looking bloodred. I'm not saying the photo is altered, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was "helped" a little. A bloodred that brilliant would be very rare.

Thanks guys! I'll look into the okeete's. I really want a juvenile that I can raise instead of purchasing an adult.

Before I got my baby I was in the market for a butter motley, but ended up getting something else when He just came right to me and had such a cool personality, testing the air, exploring and all that good stuff. (not too sure on the morph) but really I Love the little guy. Good luck with whatever you decide!
