Aspan that I found in the hamster section couldn't find the aspan for just reptiles but they say it all works the same
Shoots down that thought.
Aspen does not retain the humidity levels that some other forms of substrate do.

oh so what kind does i can try something diff.
If your goal is to lower humidity, I don't think you'd want to try a substrate that retains more moisture (adding to humidity).
Aspen is good to use.

Ya its a mesh top thing and the gauge its a zilla gauge humidity/temp.

i had alot of humidity in my tank with a wooden lid with drilled holes and a bulb, it was at 70% highest, but i put a nice piece of vine (suppose any fake plants will do) round the water bowl away from the heat, and it seems to catch it all before it starts to circulate cuz my humidity is sittin at between 45-50%.
