Hyper hatchling

yea. is Indy cloudy/dull at all? not just the eyes, but the entire body? A good way to tell is by looking at the belly. If the belly looks really dull instead of milky white, then you know that Indy is ready to shed.

Mine wouldn't eat for awhile until I put him in a separate tank in the closet with a brained pinky then he ate right away.

Okay, here they are, for all of you who have been so helpful. I posted some others in the photos section. The motley is Marien, the little Okeetee is Indy.

I was about to say that's fantastic that Indy even has the "racing stripes", until I realized that's not Indy at all. haha! Either way though... still a great name and now also great pics! Both beautiful snakes.

Thanks for posting these, rippit.

He WAS ripping around the tank - but now he's too full because he FINALLY ate! He shed on Saturday, and finally ate on Sunday. Hope it's not such a chore every time! I'm sure he'll be back doing laps once he's digested - he's got to try to win the pole, after all...

*sigh* I (heart) Indy. I wish my snake was so active he got on my nerves. LOL! It's those little things you miss later on, yanno? Though I did hear the "thunk" of him falling the other day. That was pretty exciting. Evidence that he does come out from the hide!

Although I have to admit, it was just the plant that fell and no sign of Max, but I like to think that he tried to climb it, then when it fell he ran FAST back under the hide. That way it's not like the plant fell all by itself. Evidence, you know. ;)

More pics would be nice when you have then, rippit. Thanks for the update!

I bet 10 to 1 that the thunk that you heard was the snake knocking over the plant. unless you have the very rare fully alive and very active Viv plant.

I'll post more pics after he's digested his first p/k meal. Now that he's eaten his hyperactivity won't annoy me as much.

I posted a few more pics of Indy in the photo gallery. He ate again, so he seems to recognize p/k as a food source, which we simplify my life. Here's one of the pics I posted in the gallery.

feeding a " newbie "

i have never owned a snake till now, but i have had no problems feeding my little guy. i put him in a seperate tank, and if he doesn't come to the food right away, i just jiggle it a little in front of his nose and he seems to go right for it. he knows now when i put him in the tank, that he is gonna be fed, and he starts looking for it immediately. just newspaper on the bottom, and nothing else. hope this might help. :twoguns:

I Dunno If This Should Go Here!

Well i'm not sure if this should go here, but back in June i got a Normal Corn..and it was fine when i got it, but it was always so weary about me handling it..and its not getting any better, infact its getting worse...although everything is as it should be heating etc..it wont even let me touch it now.. i was considering selling it, but i really dont want to...what can i do??

What do you mean "it won't let me touch it"? Are you letting it go when it strikes at you or just leaving it alone because it looks like it's going to strike? How old is it? If you let it go when it strikes or bites, it will get in the pattern of doing that to make you let it go. Keep trying and eventually it should calm down. If it makes you nervous, get a pair of gardening gloves.
