I am getting a reptile room!!!!!

As i chinchilla breeder i will plead. PLEASE dont keep your chin in a warm reptile room. most breeders like to keep their chin rooms around the 65 degree mark. over 80 degrees WILL KILL THEM. no ifs, ands, or buts about it. It is recomended that even here in canada that you have air conditioning during the summer, and if youre in florida you need AC year round. :twoguns:

All i know is this: when i was 14 i sure didnt have the maturity to keep up with that many animals, and i sincerely doubt that you do. that said, even if you were 30 and had told me what you have told all of us on here, i sure wouldnt trust you with any of my critters.

Boy, I say, Boy, maybe you oughta stop a postin' until you get yer noggin all settled. Chickens inside, ball pythons then none, drowning snakes... sounds like a hound dog in the woodpile ta me!

Smart boy, got a mind like a steel trap...full of mice.

Now wait a minute son, ya payin' no attention. Ya startin' too big. Ya gotta walk before ya can run. Start small, look at me when I'm talking to ya son. I say start small and work up. Now try again boy. Kids nowadays they kmnow it all.

Did Rep_addict leave the forum or something?Either that or the contents of this post aren't of a big concern anymore. In which case, I'd say it's safe to assume we know what's going to happen

Nope, he's still here posting the same types of stuff. Apparently not he's having problems with "red pinkies" falling apart when he thaws them.

There's a 3rd snake down.

Rep_Addict, what all do you have left in your collection, and how are you going to guarantee that they don't all get parasites if that's what your latest one died from?

MEDIC!!! MAN DOWN, MAN DOWN!!! WE NEED A MEDIC OVER HERE!!! :roflmao:

Sound like the repti-terrorist have unleashed a RMD(R_A of Mass Destruction)

Ok OK, Good of you all to be so concerned about the helpless animals. Keep in mind cav is a witty army Major fighting a 14 year old boy here with a whole army of herpers behind him. :twoguns: Lighten up. were you ever 14?

Follow me Boys! I'll see you on the beach!

His age isn't the issue here Jason. He has made a habit of ignoring the sound advice and information that has been provided on this site. Unfortunately, it is the animals that are suffering, not reptile_addict.

oK, I agree with you he should slow down on the number of herps he is trying to keep. I think we have made our point now.
Reptileaddict, I had an obsesion with reptiles at your age. You are lucky that your parrents let you keep so many. MIne did too. I wouldn't want you to hesitate in comming back here to learn more, but if you want people to regain faith in you, you need to slow down and work up to a reptile room over several years.
How is that? I think thats fair. :)

and please i am new to corns.... why does reptile addict say that the hole was too small....why the hell would you ever have a lid on a water bowl, maybe I'm stupid i don't know please tell me where you got the info that you should have a lid on your water bowl please. i just really cant see the logic in it

I, for one, DO use water bowls with lids on them in most of my enclosures. I have been using them that way for about 3 years now. I have NEVER had a problem with them. I take certain precautions to keep my snakes from drowning in their bowls, however. First of all, if I use a deli type water bowl, I make sure there are "drain holes" about a half an inch from the top of the container. If the water rises too much when the snakes are in them, the water will drain out of the holes leaving air at the top. I also do not use them with holes made in the center of the lid. I have found that putting the holes near the edge of the lid works MUCH better. Snakes have the tendency to circle the edges of their enclosures. They do the same thing with water bowls. If the hole is at the edge of the lid, it is much easier for the snake to find its way out. Finally, I do not fill the water bowls to the top. The snake will displace the water. By limiting the amount of water, I make sure there is room for the snake to get in the bowl without the water reaching the top of the container.

I use bowls like this because many of my snakes totally destroy their enclosures on a nightly basis. These bowls help to eliminate the mess.

I have attached a picture of one of my water bowls...

Wow, what a disaster. That said, I'm going to join the chorus here and say that if I had three, THREE, corns die in such a short period, my first thought would not be, "Let's get a whole room full!"

It seems that you need to do a bit more research, since each corn died of something different. If you change one mistake, you make another. I know every snake will not be immortal, but I believe that you're just egging on a streak of deaths here. I'd say slow it down, and just try and focus your attention on one or two snakes, and hone your skills.

I know for a fact that at 14, I wanted an entire HOUSE full of snakes, but I also know I wouldn't have been educated or responsible enough for all the time and reasources that would take. Realize you have your whole life to aquire many wonderful, beautiful animals, and that you don't need to jump this far so soon.
