I did it again :( Meet Tilly and Todd!

Tula_Montage

It's Jager time!
Just another trip for snake food...
And i did quite literally get it... meet our 2 new mice :)

Although no breeding plans for these two, they will be kept JUST as pets.
However i obviously can't guarantee that they wont produce babies :(

The thing that amazes me is how freakishly identicle they are... They have the exact same symetrical butt spot... Tan mice, red eyed with a white butt spot

The male has it on the right, the female has it on the left...

We are also picking up an imperial scorpion on Tuesday that we ordered aswell... And apparently they get the ball hatchlings in next week too!!! I seriously need to stop going to that pet store!

I can guarantee you that the mice won't care what YOUR plans are for their breeding... they'll follow their own plans quite well, so, uh, have fun with the free snake food.

One other note, when they do breed and produce babies.... the hoppers will fit through those bars no problemo and you will have a home full of mice.

Who would have thought, a girl and a boy mouse living together would produce babies.. geez! What is this world comming to?

Hana

They can each have their own Deli Cups for food and water. Then they can be fat and sassy together

The proportions are not as they seem in the pictures... the mice themselves are very small, only just a couple of months old. The gaps in the bars are less than 1cm. And the depth of the cage is 3 1/2 inches with 1 inch bedding.

Anyhoo if and when they do breed, I have a 10G viv lying around that i would probably use for the female if she got pregnant and keeping her in that until the mice are big enough to be seperated into their own cages, males in one, females in another and keep them until big enough to use as snake food.

And this process will probably carry on and on... Like i said, i didn't buy them for snake food but if they produce it, ill use it.

I intentially bought a male and a female so, no i won't be seperating them, despite the risk of mice galore... We have 7 empty and 4 full cages like the one in the picture ATM because we had around 21 hamsters last year from one bought pregnant female, and thus the cycle continued... And Carol, we never once had a breakout, despite the dwarf hamsters being much smaller than the mice

you do know it's illegal to feed live mice to snakes in the U.K. right? :shrugs:

Update...

Mice have settled in very nicley... They haven't sat still since we got them very early today...

Apart from the little male, who fell asleep in his wheel for a mere 10 mins before the female jumped on and knocked him off :p

We have a problem though, Can't find a place to put the cage... some are already stacked in threes... etc :(

I think a racking system is in order pretty soon...

WHERE THE HELL AM I GOING TO PUT THE SCORPION VIV!!!! AHHH :crazy02:

I would never feed live... But no one has to know about stunning or freezing ;)

The prices of rodents around here are just too much :(
