I GETTING A TITANOBOA!!!

dave partington

Crazy Dave
I was clicking around on facebook and saw an auction for a Titanoboa and thought, hey, there's not a lot of those around, so bid $25 on it and won it! I already paid the 25 plus $139.95 shipping thru Western Union. It's just a baby only 7 feet long. Anything I need to know about keeping them? I have a 10 gallon aquarium. Do I need a heat lamp or anything? Thanks.

Only feed it cool ranch doritos. Nacho cheese ones will poison it.

And also you need to get a car buffer to keep it's scales shiny.

I'm sure it will be fine in a 10 gallon, snakes only grow as big as their enclosures. You don't need to get a heat lamp or anything, your little dude will just generate the environment it needs all by itself. Oh, but make sure to put him/her in front of the television, they need entertainment. Just don't show any Twilight movies, otherwise the snake will start to sparkle, start biting you a lot!

NICE PICK-UP!

I had bid $24.00 and someone Sniped a last minute bid in at $25.00:mad:
THANKS ALOT!!!!:argue:

Todd:headbang:

I just got off the phone with Rofl Reptiles, they made a mistake they already sold the one I got so they are sending two fresh imported yearlings instead. Will they be okay together in the same tank I dont want them to get lonely. They said they are a pair how can I be sure? Thanks for all the help. Sorry for all the questions I just want to do whats best for them.

I would house them separately...you don't want them to breed too early and the female dies trying to give birth.....the female needs to be at least 40 ft and 2,000 lbs before breeding or she could die. Be prepared for perhaps hundreds of babies...you never know what first litters will be like.....

Well I'm sure they will be wonderful together, they are in love with each other, they sleep together all the time. Feeding is tricky but after the tug of war over the mouse, the mouse bites one of the snakes and then the other eats the mouse. I've heard from the snake expert at the tire store this is how they od it in nature. They team up to hunt and kill.
The babies some will be born live and some eggs, but that's OK you can get used to taking care of them that way. I would suggest mashed, pee scented hamsters. You boil mash then put it in a natural sausage casing, mine love this mixture.
I would also suggest a heating pad on one side, a light on the other, place water over heating pad for best effect. If you get hungry while caring for the snakes wait for one to go in water dish and if it stays for 20-25 minutes add onions and carrots, yummo. :puke01:

I had one of those years ago. Mine was a fossil morph. It was very easy to take care of but when I had it on display at one of the expos it was stolen while I went to the restroom.

Am I the only one that sees the real problem with this thread? "I getting" in the title, I feel there should be a "be" and "yo" in there as well.

Anyway, yes housing them together is fine, but they need gatorade to drink, orange flavor is best. The orange dye will help bring out their true colors.

Yeah, I saw the I getting...but thought hey...it's a titanboa...you can write it anyway you want!

Also the best hides are pickle jars, but only those big bulk ones by the tubs o mayo at the store. The snakes will eat the pickles, drink the juice, and turn a lovely shade of bright green too.
They might need some help getting the lid open though.

They only turn green when going through color change! Everyone knows THAT! Get your facts right!

but my bestie at the pet store says that they turn green when they eat pickles, and it's good to give them a varied diet. She totally knows what she's talking about, she used to breed guppies.

Hey yo, I got the UPs ground tracking, they'll be here next friday, totally stoked!. How long should I wait to try them on hampsters and doritos? Wich should I try them on first? Aslo, I heard sometimes imports are fussy, should i do anything to make them feel at ease more? Thanks, all youre posts have helped me lots. dp

You might want to try setting up some ferns and toy dinosaurs around their viv, just to make them feel more at home. ;)

I usually try to feed the day they come in before shipping (and in this case extinction shock) set in. If you grunt in caveman talk he should feel happier.
