i've done a ton of research, but i still have a few unanswered questions.
1. there is a pet store nearby that can order a snake for me from a breeder. is that okay, or should i avoid pet stores all together?
2. the snake i am possibly getting is 3 or 4 months old. how long do you think it will be?
i would greatly appreciate some advice on these topics.
thank you

well, i have never really trusted petstores... that decision i think you will have to make but there are plenty other ways to acquire your snake.

Being 3-4 months old will probably mean it will be around 20-25 inches. I might be wrong, but then again, i'm not sure how much he or she is being fed at the moment.

have you had a corn snake before (not that i doubt your knowledge, but i have a question that only someone with a corn snake as a pet can answer)?

of course. Be extremely careful while doing that though because if they decide to hide behind a heavy peice of furniture, good luck getting them out. It is best to put them somewhere like ur b bath tub to let them excercise

i went to these two different sites, and one said that pine was toxic, and the other listed it as ok. do you know which one is right? (i use pine for my hamster, and it would be nice to be able to use somethin i've already got). Of course, i could always switch my hamster to aspen...

No pine or cedar. The oils can kill your snake. I use aspen bedding with absolutely no problem. I have used repti-bark and paper towels as substrate before, but the aspen is by far the most pleasant smelling, and easiest to clean up in my opinion.

i also forgot to state that if you use the bath tub to exercise your little friend, be sure to clean it well before and after hand. Its kindof a pain, but i (personally) think it is nessessary

I got my Snow, Anery, Normal, Amel, and Ghost all from local breeders. The other seven Anery A's are hatchlings from my Snow and Anery.

...and unfortunately, I have no idea where my black king came from...

I got malakii about three years ago as a hatchling. I think I paid about $40-$45 for him. He was about 10 inches long, and now he's almost 39 inches long and a daddy... I'm so proud :)

This is the most recent pic I have of him...
