I think my new snake regurgitated.

it wasn't the temperature, it didnt drop below 84 in warm side. and 72 on cool side.

I have an UTH.
Apologies - on the 29th, you were sure the temps were fluctuating and you didn't have a stat or know what the temps were overnight. I didn't realise you'd managed to upgrade since.

In that case, you need to be following the regurge protocol and not feeding now for ten days, so that snakie's digestive system can recover.

89 at most, averaged 86-87ish.

ive had a messed up shift at work so ive finally been able to monitor night temps they are only 1-2 degrees colder on the really cold nights.

it was 9 days.

I would wait 12-14 days and really give those digestive juices a chance to recharge. Another regurge would be really bad.

I have two corns a red and a butter corn. The red is hearty and not prone to regurge no matter what. The butter corn however was very sensative when I first got her, if I would lift her hide after she fed she would, I believe, get nervous and regurge. I learned to wait until i saw her poo before I started lifting hides.
I would advise you to feed your snake and then leave it be for 4 or 5 days then check on it and look for poo.

Temps over 85 can definitely elicit a regurge especially in a younger snake. Some corns are also more sensitive to heat than others. I have 2 that NEVER use their warm side at all and none of my cages get over 83 on the warm side. I would make sure your set-up now isn't allowing anything over 82-83 degrees and that your snakes have a cool side to retreat to with hides. Wait 10-12 days, try and get some nutribac, and when you do feed start with pinky heads rolled in nutribac for the first few meals before moving back up to a whole pink:)

Well he is out and about again, however he's really starting to look flat, and I also noticed his stomach is really squishy, I was under the impression it was supposed to be at least a little firm.

Fed him a pinky head, and voila no regurge. Hooray!

ill probably just feed him another head rather than risk another regurge so soon since the last two.

I think that some babies are just more sensitive than others. You seem to have a very sensitive baby. I'm glad that she kept the head down! Yay!

About the squishy belly- some seem to be squishier than others. I have one with a squishy belly, and it worried me for a while, but I think that it is just her body build.

Remember that they can go a long time without eating, so don't worry about her starving- I know that I am always paranoid about that.

well, I woke up this morning and I found him dead.

I tried feeding the other day and he refused it, thought things were looking up since he finally didn't regurge the food.

oh well, such is life. back the pet store to get another one.

I'm sorry he died. There was probably something wrong with him to begin with. They try so hard to live.

I am so sorry for your loss.
Like Nanci said, sometimes something is wrong with them that we can't see.

I went back to the pet store when I got him, and due to my ignorance when I started I didn't notice all the red flags, there was a few there that had regurgitated already and it was still in the tank.

and every reptile enclosure was filthy, needless to say I was disgusted. I told off the keeper then left.

I will not boycott the location I went to, went to another location and it was fantastically clean the snakes were actually active and the staff knowledgeable.

I didn't find another corn snake I fancied as much as the last, but I did get a ball python as I have been made aware the husbandry is similar to that of corn snakes.

this one seems active and healthy so I'm hoping for better luck.

my snake pooed on my bedsheets today while i had him out (i have no idea how i didnt notice), well i say poo but im not sure if it was. it looked like little sausages with skin round it but also had white stuff accompanied with it. am i right in saying that this is a poo as its the 2nd time he has done this since eating a fuzzy 4 days ago

p.s it looks nothing like the regurge picture at the beginning of this thread

Sounds normal but a picure would help. My older corn has a poop that looks kinda like that close to her next feeding almost every week. If you get it in a paper towel and squish it - it looks like hair. I can get a picture of one if you can't.

unfortunately threw it away in a panic to get it off my bed, but im also guessing that when they regurge they can only do it once?
