I wanna get another corn, but.....

Ah! I didn't know it was a question of whether MOM had the money! That's completely different........don't get another snake, then. If you're mother has told you that she doesn't have the money for another set-up then, guess what? She doesn't! You lucked out getting a viv that came with everything minus 1 hide. But, did it also come with the UTH(under the tank heater)? What about when it's time to buy new bedding? And of course feeding. If it's a hatchling or young snake then you're going to be moving up in feed sizes and that costs quite a bit of money to do since you're wasting money to buy in bulk with only 1 or even 2 snakes. Maybe, Mom has thought about all these things and that's what she means by, I don't have enough money.

Oh, manofcornsnakes, when I was questioning it was because of ignorance, not criticism at all!

So you heat the whole room! That makes sense. I just have an apartment. Temperature regulation on that scale is kind of a foreign concept to me. ;)

And they stretch all the time! That makes sense too.

I ask because my information comes from books for newbies, which means they talk about a tank that needs to be longer than he is and temperatures on each side of the tank, etc.

Thanks for clarifying!

Oh, no problem, I didn't take it personally. when you can, pick up Kathy Loves book on Corn Snakes. it will give you a wealth of Knowledge. I was young also once, short on funds ect. Just be sure to only keep what you can take care of. Money, space and more snakes will come in time. Don't rush your hobby, your a young person with many years ahead of you in this hobby.
Stop and say hello anytime. :)

Im not getting him right away....im getting him in june on my bday. :D

and one thing to manofcornsnakes....im in a tight spot now....but now since u have explained everything to me about using tubs i might just change my mind. :) and i wasnt trying to offend u or anything :D

I myself have only read 1 book for newbies but will look at more, if it gives u more knowledge, its worth it!!!

You are also a touch young to get overwellmed with snakes right now. What do you plan to do when you turn 18 and those snakes are still young and healthy? Dorms don't allow snakes and many apartments don't either. Make your mom and dad care for them? That is selfish and the wrong thing to do. Give them away or sell them? Sure...and many people rehome snakes all the time, but how will you know they went to a good home...plus you lose them forever.
High School is going to eat your time like crazy. You will have harder classes, more homework, dating issues, driving...time will be precious. Enjoy your one snake now...get others when you are supporting yourself and in a stable environment.

no offense taken, I just wanted to point out that it is not what you keep your corns in, but rather how you take care of them. Good Luck and have a great weekend :)

i have decided to make my finale decision.......

i am not getting another snake......you all have made great points and i thank you all. ;D

No need for me to rub it in a bit more! You made the right decision and I, for one, am proud of you as snake owner!!!
